Tigers want to lock up Sheens before rivals come knocking

All this talk sheens will go, anyone who knows this guy knows he wants to stay here and finish up here, i say 2 more years and a premiership is what he wants, so his best chance is with wests tigers in 2011 to 2013 not else where like souths or with anyone else, he will be at WT till the end i believe, his benji robbie love affair and his other mad scientest inventions galloway, gibbs , fulton, heighno, and the real talented kids, i personally love these guys ,blake"Dolph Luundgren"ayshford, rob"sammy davis jr' liu and timmy from south park moltzen there his boys anyway enough jokes, sheens is the man still too, all this talk new coach bahhhh,he can win us a gf if all goes well injury wise and we play to our strengths ect. fast attack crisp passes not conservative, tackle and be mindful of all ball playing till dead or on ground play typical wests tigers play heart attack material, thanks end

i vote balmain bug for coach.

Thank you jezz.

The first thing I would do in my inaugural term is instill some bloody Mongrel and killer instinct into the forward pack. Why does Gareth Ellis have it for EVERY game and the other forwards don't????

Killer instinct, passion, pride, win at all costs, hatred for the opposition, passion for your club and for your supporters. I would not alienate supporters like Fonz does with stupid policies or with stupid comments.

I would unite and fight as one.

Gotta crawl before you walk mate. How about you start with a full season of U/9s and then we'll assess your credentials as a first grade coach. :supporter:

      too funny danos - no disrespect balmain bug - but i love humour - you gotta laugh - life is just too short

Dont twist stats. he has the worst winning percentage of any coach who has coached for more than 2 years since the NRL began. That is fact.

twisitng stats?

you have ignored 2/3's of his career, to place greater emphasis on a period where Jesus Christ couldn't have got the cowboys across the line, more relevant stats would be his entire career or his performance in his current role.

This figures of 47ish% with the tigers and near enough to 50% career are the relevant stats.

Neither of the stats I have listed above are earth shattering by any means, however keep in mind he built a squad at Penrith with a emphasis on youth for long term gain which others benefited from, he has also built this squad from a weak point. of course countering this he was in charge of a great canberra side which obviously helps his stats.

the coach that got penrith to the semies ( i think ron Willey) actually gave partial credit to sheens for developing the young squad

long story short, you have manipulated the stats to suit your argument

If sheens does go to souths, I think my choice would be Nathan Brown.
I know he didn't get the saints over the line, but he does coach an open game plan, and i think time in England and coaching players that he did not coach will help.
The other ones I like are Matt Cameron the parra lower grade and assistant coach, I love the style he coaches and altho very different the Aus Schoolboys have been so much better drilled and look a million bucks compared to the pre cameron days.
The other is Mick Potter…. just thought

WHY DO ALL OUR CURRENT PLAYING ROSTER WANT TO PLAY UNDER SHEENS…..

BUG..give it a rest for christs sake......every thread becomes about Sheens......i dont give a tinkers about stats......His time will pass and the CLUB will be in a stronger position than when he came.....which is all you ask for....that and a Premiership.....hold on......

Hey Goose,
Manipulate this stat dude;
2 semi final appearances in the last 15 years mate.
He is a bloke that has exceeded his used by date mate. Re-signing the Fonz would be like Ford Inking a deal with Dick Johnson to climb back into the drivers seat because he is a Drivers Champion from years gone by.
Smell the roses mate, look at what he does during a game, the decisions, the selections !!!
God help us !!!

....

Because they know they can play like absolute crap and have no fear of consequence

Remember the year sheens threatened everyone with a 'massive clean out'?

Who did we clean out? Harrison who went on to become on of the worlds second rowers, hodgson who won the man of steel the following year and teo who was 18th man for qld last year.

People must remember - when Sheens took over we had no money as money was wasted on has been footballers - the club was floundering after Lamb - he setup Concord as a central training area to get uniformity. Had to bring juniors through as money was lean and with those juniors he won a comp.

I don't disagree that some of his interchange rules are a bit odd, but you have to look at the big picture. He is still innovative with his plays - particulary scrums and usage of the side line. I don't think Lote would have signed if Sheens was not at the club.

I hope he hangs around, but if he leaves, I am happy that he was with our club and made it more professional after his tenure.

I hope Sheens stays, i have loved the Sheens years.

If money talks and he goes to Souths.

My personal choices would be Nath Brown, I know he didn't get Saints over the line, but I think his time in England and coaching players he did not play with him will improve him, I also like his style

The other 2 i suggested on another thread is Matt Cameron and Mick Potter, I also like the idea of MgGuire as well.

I've heard people say Phl Gould, the game has moved so far away from Phil Gould it is not funny, he is not the option

HAHAHAHA !!!

Geo C'mon my learned friend !!

What do you expect them to say when asked by a journalist ???? Especially if they have been picked in 1st grade week after week, year after year, irrespective of form !! He is loyal to his favourites and they show loyalty back in the papers, but for their development, and our sanity it's time for him to move on.

Lets look at the facts though; for clubs that can spend the money, there is a current vibe that Veteran Coaches are the be all and end all after the successes of the Fonz, Brian Smith and Wayne Bennett in 2010\. So much so that these coaches are now commanding $500k plus a season and if you believe some people the numbers being mentioned for the latest round of contract talks dwarf this amount. The Fonz would be silly not to sure up his nest egg. He will be employed in 2 years time (somewhere) as a coach but he wants to be employed in 5 years time as well.

The only way I see him re-signing at Wests is if he is offered the huge money that is being tabled by the power brokers at the Dragons / Rabbits / Knights & Easts.

Time will tell.

T'eo was not moved on by Sheens - he was wanted at the club but reneged on a handshake agreement to stay after the Broncos contacted him!!
