geez,a bit optimistic, which is a good thing in times like this.
probably more denial than anything

but i can't remember too many people go down like that untouched and not have major structural damage to the knee.

after reading ayshford was no chance, and seeing him out there without strapping around the knee, maybe we have found a new wonder drug.

ive been told john coffey was the reason behind blakes remarkable recovery

good to hear him upbeat, but how you feel mentally has no control of what damage he has done physically it looked really nasty just hope he stays upbeat and is back playing asap as he is a crucial part of our team, cant believe its only round 6 and we will be on our 3rd halfback next week certainly will make it hard to build momentum again.

I am not sure if people remember but one of our ex players in Steve Georgallis played games after a couple of weeks with a cruciate tear. He ended up finishing his career with no ACL's - rubber man!

Maybe Moltzen will be the same?

Moltz is what, 21? Since he has been at the tigers he has ha no real injuries to speak if. He is either trying to stay positive or just doesn't realise how serious it is.

Tigers halfback Tim Moltzen suffered an even more serious injury, ruling himself out for the rest of the season after a complete tear of his anterior cruciate and lateral ligaments in his left knee in the 15th minute of the match. –> from the NRL website... he was looking so promising this year but year seems to be cut short :frowning: but hopely Lazarus or whoever comes in gels well with Benji quickly

Lazo's had 2…..How ironic...

Moltzen does have a plate in the back of his head....never had a knee reco though.... :frowning:

I'm not expecting to see him playing for the rest of the season. Seeing how the knee went in slow motion I reckon the initial diagnosis that it was the ACL is on the money. Hopefully the scans prove me wrong though.

I did my ACL in almost the same fashion as Moltz except I had the ball in hand, running at full flight then stepped off my left into a divot and the knee buckled inwards as he did and snap. It is an extremly painful injury and watching last night I cringed when I saw it happen and grabbed my knee straight away. If indeed it is the ACL that he has done then it is a 12 month recovery until back to normal and then typically another 6-12 months until you have full confidence in it again.

I wish you the best Moltz and hope that you don't loose too much speed after your operation.

I'm pretty sure you can't play without an ACL. I think players can play without a Posterior Cruciate Ligament (PCL) or another type, but competent ACLs are absolutely neccessary.

It's called confidence.
