Ah yes, the old "nuffy accuses first grade footy player of having no courage" chestnut.
At least it takes guts to sit in front of your laptop with your jimmy-jams on and question people's toughness huh, thank god for that.
Moltzen wasn't everybodies cup of tea but you can't say a bloke who plays in the toughest team competition on the planet lacks ticker.
Have another milk arrowroot with your Horlicks.

Lol what a coincidence this comes 10 mins after I had the audacity to disagree with you in another thread. So transparent.

People will disagree on the internet champ, no need to dredge up posts that are days old cos your feelings are hurt over a difference of opinion. Put your big boy pants on.

For a bloke with a plate in his head as well as the multiple injuries he had to come back from to play NRL has ticker..

Best of Luck in retirement Moltz if you have ….

I don't believe this has been formally announced yet. But I believe my mates. Especially considering Moltz married my mates sister.

You could at least have sent Timmy on his way into the sunset with a "goodnight sweet Prince" couldn't you? 😕 :roll

There was a time last yr where i was coming around to old Timmy and really felt sorry for him. That was until he stuck his nose into the Farah fiasco, particularly after how the club stood by him throughout the Dragons contract, not to mention countless injuries. Tim's leaving, and all of a sudden he develops more courage on social media than he ever showed on the field.

Sorry, but good riddance Timid

Yeah I remember that too.

A smarmy little snipe it was.

We pretty much held that kids head in our arms as he cried and cried and cried for three years.

We finally let him go, and the petulant sook decides the cuddling, and mollycoddling wasn't enough for him.

Thanks Tim for everything, good and bad. You provided my with some fond memories in the 2008-2010's, but provided me with some pretty foul ones from there on in.

On another note, as a Real Estate Agent, best of luck with your new endeavour, and welcome to the one industry that is more rough and tumble than NRL - people don't just snipe you from social media over here, they stab you in the chest instead, whilst looking you in the eye and smiling. I hope you have the heart to cope with it.

Ah that's why he was out celebrating in Crows Nest on Sunday night. Looked pretty happy but i guess he knows this' been coming for a while now…

Wish him all the best in the future...

NRL 2016: Manly’s Tim Moltzen forced into retirement due to chronic injuries
May 6, 2016 6:57pm
Dan WalshFOX SPORTS.

ONE of rugby league’s genuine hard luck stories has run its course, with Manly’s Tim Moltzen forced into retirement at the age of 27 due to a series of chronic injuries.

Recruited by the Sea Eagles on a second-tier contract over the off-season, former Tigers prodigy Moltzen suffered further damage to his knee while training last month, with arthritis leaving his joint as effectively bone on bone.

Doctors have told Moltzen another round of surgery could impact upon his quality of life without having any affect on the injury.

As a result he is reluctantly hanging up the boots, pulling the pin on his bid to return to first grade for the first time since round seven, 2013.

The former Country Origin utility back played in the Sea Eagles Auckland Nines campaign in February and had been on the comeback trail from a dislocated elbow sustained in NSW Cup in round two.

Former Parramatta star Eric Grothe Jnr joins Ben Ikin, Ben Glover and Nathan Ryan to discuss the Eels salary cap scandal and how they can fix their problems.

His latest knee blow out is the final straw for the man once touted as Benji Marshall’s long term halves partner at Concord.

Between 2008 and 2013 Moltzen turned out in 90 games for the Tigers, with a ruptured left ACL ending his 2010 season after just five games.

After two successful years with the Tigers that had him mentioned as a possible NSW Origin contender, Moltzen again tore the same ACL in 2013, and then suffered a shattered knee cap the following pre-season.

The frustration continued with a staph infection picked up during rehab going undiagnosed for four months before further AC joint and elbow injuries brought his time at the Tigers to a close.

With a move to the northern beaches it was hoped a fresh start would see Moltzen turn around his wretched run and get back on the paddock.

But with time being called on his NRL career, Moltzen is said to be taking a step back from football and considering his options having studied progressively throughout his career.

Feel sorry for the poor guy. I doubt he was ever going to play for Australia but would of had a very productive football career. As it is he will always be known as being full of potential but never having the opportunity to really show it. Good luck to him in the future.

I've said before, he was one of the few players who seemed to be able to anticipate what Benji was doing, scored some great tries running off Marshall.
You can only pity him for his endless run of injuries. Wish him some better luck in the future whatever he does.
