Tim Moltzen

Tim Moltzen is a great touch footballer. Yet to prove anything else, but time is on his side and favourites aren't being played any more.

Why dont we just wait until next season and see how all the players go im sure they will all be playing well no more shifting players out of postion for starters.

everything seems to come back to Potter in the case of Moltzen. For us its waiting for them I hope its a case of transformation including Moltzen. Potter is in the air.

Is there any chance we might see this lineup in the trials or is this a Sheens experiment only.
Shame Moltzen didn't get a decent crack at halfback, because we can all recall a winning streak a couple of years back with Moltzen and Marshall in the halves. Personally I would like to see it given a go.

1\. Tedesco
2\. Koriobete
3\. Lawrence
4\. Ayshford
5\. Tuquiri
6\. Marshall
7\. Moltzen
8\. Woods
9\. Farah
10\. Galloway
11\. Pettybourne/Fulton
12\. Blair
13\. Anasta

After 4 seasons in grade Tim Moltzen should know how to get the best out of Tim Moltzen and if he doesn't we are seriously barking up the wrong tree

And before the Political Correctness police come along and say "everyone is different, :blah :blah :blah "

Didn't take Woodsy too long to work out how to get his best out of himself ,week after week .

Here we go again….
Considering he continues to play what is considered one of the toughest sports after a knee recon and having to have a metal plate put in his head after it was caved in a by a wayward knee I doubt he is short of heart.
But I'll leave it to the keyboard warriors , who put their health on the line every week , to their own opinions.

I heartily agree with cktiger. I know that Moltzen has stated that he would like to play at fullback but I personally believe that his future at least for the start of 2013 belongs as an interchange where he can play anywhere from wing to lock. Be fair and give him a chance. Why be so critical of Moltzen when a player such as Blair is so much more worthy of it.

Good point CK. He has been out of form due to injury and constant altering of his position. For this reason I don't think we are going to see the best of him if he is on the interchange bench. He needs game time but I am just not sure where his best position is. His problems at fullback are not guts but rather confidence.

Could he be trained up as a backup hooker?

I've brought this up in the past , he has the skills to play the position and if he was prepared to use his speed he could create issues from dummy half for opposition teams

But if I had the choice I'd prefer Robbie playing 80 minutes He is the heart and soul of our club

Moltzen will be given 1st crack at fullback especially with Tedesco only 80% fit
in fact besides Miller at 1/2 i dont think you will see that much of a change

Sorry Dre why will Tedesco only be 80% fit ??

Before his minor incident , he won the 1st fitness trial that the Tigers held

With no Rhino ,Ryan and Ellis and 4 new mentionable new signings we will look very different come Round 1

Happy, could you provide details or an article of the fitness test? Heard it from a few different people but no details yet, cheers

That won't be the case in round 1 next year.

It all depends what the new coach wants.

Personally I would have Tedesco at the back with meaney his backup, Miller in the halves with Benji with Moltzen and Sironen as their backups. But that is my opinion.

Who knows a month or two in State Cup could give Tim his spark back. I get the feeling that under Mick Potter Reserve Grade won't be the ignored and overlooked dust bin Sheens used it as. His work at all of his appointments thus far have revolved around a club philosophy rather then a First Grade philosophy

what I've learnt from all this posts still does not indicate if Moltzen has overcome the psychological connection to his knee irrespective of what position he is playing. How long does it take to recover from this surgery? Is he over it? I dont have a clue. Otherwise its "sink or swim" - flippedy. That time has come. Medioicrity wont be rewarded. On the other hand this Moltzen could be anything if Potter is our maker.

with potter being an ex fullback id be surprised if it wasn't teddy 1st rowe 2nd moltzen 3rd as fullback preferences

Rowe in front of Moltzen?!! Is this just because he's training with FG? He trained with them last summer too and no one said boo!! Sorry but Rowe has a lot of work to do if 2nd preference is the case!! Especially now that he's out for 6 weeks after some fresh thumb surgery!!

Teddy and Moltz pretty even at this stage. I think Potter will find a place for both of them in the team.

Didn't know Rowe was injured ? Has this been posted on facebook ?

Rowe is talented but he had trouble holding down the NYC fullback spot for most of the year (yes he was injured for a while) I don't think he is ahead of Moltz.

Moltzen is over his knee injury, he did plenty of stepping last year, and occasionally hit the defensive line at speed, he just doesn't do it regularly.
