Tim Moltzen's best performance as a fullback

Easily his best fullback performance. Didn't really get tested in defense too much (for some reason) but in attack he was sublime. He also did a fair bit of hard work in returning it, albeit generally on tackle 2\. Anyway, great effort from a much maligned character.

Yeah was happy with his game tonight.

Still dont think he'll be that big of a loss but he did play well tonight.

good game ,,, but he still dosent hit the ball back with pace … he still props for a runner to give it to .....and still isnt confident with the high ball....

Agreed

I wonder if we would be saying the same if he had contested the 2 bombs in the first half . But credit were credit is due Easily his best game at Fullback since the injury . I wonder if it was the fact someone had shown confidence in him ??

I don't get how posters on here can't see two things regarding Moltzen:-

1\. Right now and for the whole season Moltzen > McKinnon and it hasn't been close.
2\. Moltzen has the ability to be a top level player at fullback or in the halves.

The amount of egg on posters faces regarding the overrating of McKinnon and the over the top criticism of Moltzen is huge.

Put it this way Sheensy the genius has actually seen it as well and he usually takes a long time to get it. Remember Johnny Cronk at 7.

Actually that was his best game all season and tonight was average but good back up for a try still soft on returns and did fumble a couple but an improvement.

If Bowen had read his dummy and tackled him i wonder how many people would be praising him i am sure most of us on here knew he wasnt going to pass in a 3-1\. Apart from that he had an average game not good but not bad

Mate McKinnon has been almost all season head and shoulders above him as a fullback.

Theres no doubt he can play but that wasnt a great fullbacks game from him tonight….even though he had a generaly good game. He is in the wrong position.

no egg on my face tiger 05 …..the try he score off benji had nothing to with the number on his back ....i cant wait to play saints if they play him at fullback ....

Really should have passed that but he scored so he's forgiven….however if Bowen caught him with the ball, you're right, this place would go into meltdown

i think it's all relative. Tim did play better. No denying that but it still wasn't of a standard a good NRL fullback.

The most annoying aspect of his game is how he drifts back on kick returns looking for his wingers to return the ball. It costs us valuable metres as he needs to position himself and his winger before he can pass.

He still lacks confidence in my opinion.

Ironically, his best play was when he played the role of a halve for Ayshfords first try.
