why, that is what Fitzhenry was bought back for… he played Hooker in the UK very very well and bought back incase Farah was playing for NSW... we dont have any other specialty hooker

Wasn't it because of his experience and leadership…....as well as Farah's 'BACK' Up.....

Fitzhenry returns after a two year stint with Hull Kingston Rovers. He played 43 matches, mostly at hooker and also filled in across the backline. Fitzhenry is a very experienced player and will assist in providing leadership to the younger players in the Wests Tigers squad.

And then there is this.....

RETURNING Tiger Daniel Fitzhenry is likely to find a home in the forwards.
The former winger has been training at No. 9 as a back-up for captain Robbie Farah.
>
He is also expected to play a bit of lock and back-row.

14\. Taumata
15\. Fitzhenry....

I doubt we'll see both of them on the bench. I reckon Fitzy will spend most if his time in State Cup and then come to FG if Farah is selected on in SOO or injured. Sheens will surely go with at least 2 big units on the bench, one backrower and one utility.

Behaviour or loyalty should play no part in who starts the season in 7.

If Arana is the best bet than Lui can ply his halfback skills in NYC and still train with the NRL squad..

I am not sold on the idea of a half as a bench player by any meansWe complain about poor bench options and this would jsut create another one

**I can't agree with that one. Imagine the effect on team solidarity if a bloke who has been forced out of 4 other clubs waltz's in and takes a position that a Tigers junior, and who has connections with the 1st grade players, has been working towards. Especially when it's Lui and he has a bunch of potential.\
\
It wouldn't be good for the team. Arana has to earn his place first through playing games for the tigers, whether it be from the bench or state cup.\
\
Arana is a solid running half, I think he could fill in a variety of the back line positions.**

He hasnt ''waltzed in''
Lote will waltz in.
Taumata will have worked all off season, played in the trials…anything he or other new players get will be earnt.
Every player in the top squad should start the season on level footing, training and trials should determine who gets the nod for round one.
As long as he's done whats asked of him since he signed on the dotted line, if he deserves to start thats fine imo.
What hes done in the past is nothing to do with us...a fresh start is just that. A fresh start.

Didnt think we'd be seeing Tame on the wing, hey Simon

I reckon he's waltzed… But you are right, Lote will more so disrupt the team cohesion if he takes a players spot walking in during round 6.

My god, I hope sheens doesn't stick 2 backs on the bench. Anyway, if Tame starts on the bench, surely they could stick him back on the wing if there are 2 backline injuries.

you cant have two utility type players on the bench

2 front rowers, back/2nd rower and a utility

We know this…........Sheens on the other hand...... 😕

Round 1 bench's
2009
9\. R. FARAH
14\. R. HANBURY
15\. R. TRIMARCHI
17\. D. LAURIE

2008
14\. T. MOLTZEN
15\. D. GALEA
16\. C. PAYNE
17\. B. HARRISON

2007
14\. L. FULTON
15\. D. FITZHENRY
16\. B. HARRISON
17\. K. GALLOWAY

2006
14\. M. CROCKETT
15\. K. GALLOWAY
16\. R. O'HARA
17\. T. PAYTEN

Hmmm.....

Sheens said Tupou is the biggest guy in the club, hence front row slot..but he also said if he regained mobility anythings possible
Bad news on TNT-another op 5 months after September is a major problem

i guess it depends on how our pack is formed. Id imagine ellis, heigno and fulton would be 80min players, given us plenty of options on the bench.

Any idea if anyone is able to put the interview for download, for those that missed it? Would love to hear it. Also Moltzen for fullback and let the young guys fight for the 7\. If we have Moltz at 1 that means that we have 4 genuine playmakers in the team. 1,6,7,9 whereas if we had Moltz at 7, he would probably be better suited but less playmakers i nthe team IMO

it's podcast on http://www.2ky.com.au/

Only just over 2 minutes worth of the interview 😕 dam 2ky!!!!

14\. Taumata
15\. Moors/Flanagan
16\. Tupou
17\. Payten/Gibbs

Plenty of size in there, so no need to be saying we are desperately lacking size. Taumata can fill in the halves, and centres and probably fullback and Hooker if need be. The other 3 can fill in the front row and second row if need be

Gee i hope not.

Ellis shpuld play 80 minutes when needed but should be rested at the end of games when the result isnt in the balance to keep him as fresh as possible. As for both Heighno and Fulton playing 80 minutes togther, well i think that would be a disaster. IMO only one of those guys should be in the starting side….....may the best man win i say. I'd hate see both there playing lots pof minutes while the younger more talented backrpwers at the club dont get a chance.

Heighington needs a break during games. Sheens keeps him on the field for too long in some games and Heighington gets buggered. He didn't have enough energy and his hitups didn't do much. He would be better if he got a rest like second rowers should get. Even Ellis could have a bit of a rest. Heighington could come off around the 30 min mark and come back on around the 60th minute. Ellis come off around 30 minute mark and come on around the 50th minute. They will be more effective that way. Have 2 second rowers that can have an impact in the last 10 minutes of the first half (like Mataka and Moors) and 2 front rowers on the bench that come on around 20 mins and go off with around 20 to go, and our forwards will be more effective and make more meters. Fulton can stay on for the whole 80 mins tackling his arse off. Also if one of out halves get injured during the game, Fulton could move to five eighth so we have that covered.

Coming from you….no, not really.
No offense.

Thats not very nice _Buckets of Blood._ You have hurt my feelings.

Why do I get that uneasy feeling that the Bug is right….....I hope not......

I get the feeling that Arana will be used as Farah's backup - most likely off the bench. Especially with his explosive running and kicking game. Sheens would be foolish to split up the Marshall - Moltzen halves combination.

i think ull find Fitzhenry will be the back up for Farah. Arana will either be 14 or Halfback

I doubt that will occur.

Fitzhenry will be the starting hooker for the Makay trial - no doubt about it.

they said that we had lsot some speed, but sheens said we hadnt…said that brown and daniella were faster replacements for who we lost

first time u are on the money🙂

there is a very faint hope he may.. and if he does, i doubt itll be in WT 1st or even wing

I wonder how big this new operation for Tuiaki is. If it's another big operation then maybe 2010 is over for him :frowning:
