You're right, he doesn't. Except as a captain, you need to make sacrifices for your club. Woods doesn't have to commit. But if he doesn't, give the captaincy and hand it to someone who wants to be here.

How about ET. Got sick of negotiations dragging so much last year he took over and sorted the deal out himself.
Don't get me wrong ET has been great for us and i wouldn't be disappointed if he got the C, but you cant compare ET's contract situation with Woods. ET was reserve grade when we signed him on a 1year deal. he was looking to sort his NRL career out. Wood's will be in demand and is a Blue and a Kangaroo.
Sure he should have kept his month shut and sorted his concerns out in private.
