Ill be honest and say Lovett looked strong but he can go too.

I thought Kev was easily one of our best. Gave 200%. The try he scored required a bit of work too.

As for Lovett, i thought he was impressive. I know he'll cop it because he's an easy target but he was good today. Made metres after contact almost every time he ran the ball.

And hindered the left side attack, got the ball instead of getting early ball to guys with a bit a speed.
He gets barrelled every time he gets the ball and always has a slow play the ball.
Sorry Lovett get the Red pen out.

Yes. This is true. Lovett tries hard but a first grader he well and truly aint

Yes I agree. I don't understand why fans only see Naiqama'a errors.

Because there are so many of them.

It's out no doubt…

Squads go to 30 so some of our current nuffies will be replaced by other nuffies...there is hardly anything coming through the 20's this year either maybe 1 or 3...

That's why hopefully the club buys a lot more players before next season, even fringe players who will only get a run if there are injuries. At least these new fringe players will push the deadwood out (Lovett, JLJ, Edwards et al)

I can not stand kyle Lovett he is a piece of paper literally, the same with little john he is a very stiff player with no sort of movement. Whats the record with them in the team anyone know

End of the year a massive broom will be put through the place, half those first grade imposters out there today won't be heard from again. The record of those two in a winning side, It would have to be under 20% having said that though the Tigers since 2012 have 50 wins and 82 losses @ 38%. 5 years of a crap team full of crap players. Taking out Ava, Teddy and Woodsy who are off to other clubs next year, who else would get a run in any other NRL team, maybe Nofo, Taylor and Suli at the knights. That's a whole lot of other Nigels playing in an elite professional sports team. The mind boggles how salary cap issues has caused 5-6 years of excuses especially when articles were written in 2014 highlighting all those issues would be over by 2015/16 and 2017 would be a top 4 year. Come 2017 and the side is still full of numpties, thank Christ we finally have a competitive/competant coach that players actually want to come here and play under next year.

This is a great post

I could live with that, easily, as long as Sue was included

Please also add the following:
Rankin - goneski
Edwards - goneski
Lawrence - goneski
Idris - goneski

Jeez. At this rate we will have NO ONE left

Plus full ISP and under twenties playing squads and their coaches.

Jakob Giles is good.
The rest, unimpressive

1 James Tedesco - Gone
2 David Nofoaluma - Slightly above average first grader
3 Michael Chee-Kam - Red Pen
4 Moses Suli - Future Star
5 Kevin Naiqama - Red Pen
6 Tuimoala Lolohea - Just Signed
7 Jack Littlejohn - Red Pen
8 Aaron Woods (C) - Gone
9 Matt McIlwrick - Average first grader
10 Ava Seumanufagai - Gone
11 Kyle Lovett - Red Pen
12 Chris Lawrence - Red Pen
13 Elijah Taylor - Slightly above average first grader

Interchange
14 Tim Grant - Red Pen
15 JJ Felise - Kid
16 Esan Marsters - Kid
17 Jacob Liddle - Kid

Out of the starting 13 you'd at a push have 5 players you'd want to keep for next year.

1\. Tui
2\. Nofo
3\. Suli
4\. MZW
5\. Fonua (is this confirmed?)
6\. Reynolds
7\. Brooks
8\. Packer
9\. Mcilwrick
10\. Matulino
11\. McQueen
12\. Aiolai (pretty sure Rowdy will retain this spot)
13\. Taylor

It's obvious that's the team for next year unless we have a huge signing that's been kept secret but that's pretty much it. The only room for movement is the bench 16 & 17, next year we finally after so many years have depth for a few spots.

14\. Liddle (in my opinion a wasted bench spot)
15\. Alioai
16\. Sue (needs to pull his thumb out)
17\. JJ/Marsters/(add any one from the top 30)

Besides the edge defence and actually scoring points, the biggest concern the Tigers have had for the last three years is when Woods goes off for the middle third. We are so soft up the guts when he is off its as obvious as how poor our edge defence is all game. We haven't had a half decent second front rower in the last 2 and a half years to take the brunt while he has been off (Galloways last fair year was in 2014) with Woods not even here next year I'd like to think with some harder experienced nuts out there like Packer, Matulino and McQueen with some big lumps like Sue, Marsters and Aiolai fresh off the bench we might be able to stiffen up that miserable period 10mins before and after half time that we are so famous for leaking points in. It'll be nice for a change not having to stress out for 30mins in every game while Woods is off the field.

Ivans recognised the edge defence as a huge issue so I'm sure that will be worked on from now and through the off season. Adding Tui and never say die Reynolds to the roster alongside Brooks also gives us 3 play makers on the field at all time which can hopefully help with our scoring of points issue.

Our roster next year looks 10 times better then the rubbish that was trotted out today. Next year is looking pretty bright. It's taken 6 years or in other terms, half a players generation but I think finally we will start seeing finals footy regularly.

Yes, that looks a likely team and not a bad one, but I'd be disappointed if that's our full cap spent. I'd like to see one more good buy.

Also Lawrence just needs to quit, we all love him and he tries hard but seriously are his hammies made from torn bed sheets?

Marsters deserves a bench spot. He's made a bigger impact that Joel Edwards has done throughout the season. If Marsters works on his defence a little bit he could become our starting second-rower next to Mqueen in 2018\. If you watched the Dragons v Tigers game yesterday his attack was lethal. Every time he had the ball 3 people had to stop him.

Mostly agree with this 2018 roster however I dont think MWZ will be a starting centre. We will pick someone up before the season starts in my opinion. A quality centre and front rower is still on the cards.

I think Aloiai should play in the middle. He would be perfect at lock. I think ET goes great in the middle but I'd move him to the edge. We need 6 big props belting it up all game.

I think it would be a mistake to cut Naiqama when there aren't loads of options coming through for wing. At the right price, as a wing or backup wing option, he is fit, doesn't get injured, does the job. He's not a terrific winger but he's not a hopeless one either. He is not a legitimate centre option, but we are recruiting pretty strongly in centre options right now.

Extended squad, for the right price, probably not a lot of competition for his signature in the NRL, it would be a smart re-signing IMO.

Maybe because there are plenty of them!!!

Did you actually watch yesterday's game? He could'nt tackle me.

You need to remember that a squad of 30 + 6 development players is required next year. I am not sure what the rules are around being classified as a development player. I think a few of a first graders should be kept as long as they agree to minimum contracts and are considered back-up or fringe players.

I would keep Lovett, Rankin, MCK, Kev under these conditions, who else do you replace them with?

We could raid other clubs young players and fringe players, but would they come for a minimum contract? What would we end up with? For every Addo-Carr there is an Ashleigh Nisbet. Based on stats, he looked like he could develop at the club, but has not risen above Ron Massey cup.
