Moltzen would be on peanuts and is the second most experienced half at the club now behind Anasta. I'd like to see how he'd go in his preferred position of 5/8th outside a halfback like Brooks but only if Sirro ends up 110kg by the start of next season and there's nothing else for him but the pack. Then again I'd like to see Anasta outside Brooks too.
The issue with a player like Moltzen is that he seems just that little bit too good (read, we pay just a little too much for him) to ever drop him entirely despite there being better options.
I wouldn't be entirely disappointed either way in light of Marshall leaving. While I expected Marshall to say I would preferred Moltzen go.
I remember a year or so ago a lot of talk about Moltzen to the Waratahs. Maybe they'll both go to Rugby for the same club and continue their friendship elsewhere together.

Easy decision this one
Coming back from a second ACL and showed vey little apart from a run at the back end of 2011 after his first ACL reco
The cons outweigh the pros ,let him go to the ESL , he won't cut it in the NRL

We should pay someone to take him, key part of old culture. Plus Tauber is his manager, all the more reason to 'bone' him.

With the back line talent we have coming through I just don't see where he fits.
If he is happy playing NSW Cup and providing depth for us then fair enough. But he may end up making the decision as he will want to play 1st team football and that won't be here in the years to come.

We should keep him for next yuear, ads experince, utility and skill. He may not be everyones cup of tea and I wouldnt have him in mystarting 13 but we will have the cap space next year and if he left we would probably have to pay a lot of his contract anyway. Look at how many injuries we have had this year - what if we loose Tedesco, Laerence, Simona, Koroibete, Brooks, Sironen next year - All having been injured this yr except Simona - would you rather an experienced Motzen or Eddie Paea

That's the problem. He's poor to average in a number of positions and not great in any of them. He doesn't run hard enough for a fullback, he doesn't create enough as a half and as a centre the best you could say is he's a decent fill-in in an emergency. He's the kind of guy who's good to have in your reserve grade team but you wouldn't want to be paying him too much. Meaney does a similar job on a lot less.

Well let's not throw good money after bad then, let him play in State Cup without pressure and see what becomes of him. If the injury curse hits again he will be useful. I know it is bad economics to pay overs for a reserve grader but what's the point of subsidising another club?
If the 'new culture' here means players earn their spots Tim should be no different, whatever we are paying him.
