Todd Payten

He is becoming more and more injury prone, is it time he starts thinking about calling it a day and stepping aside for the younger brigade to get their chance?

Looked like his troublesome calf was again shrink wrapped in ice and he wasn't looking happy

I rate Fifita as a great impact player for now but his ruck speed is not quite up there for starting prop just yet

A bit harsh imo. Have a look at our win/loss record when he is not playing and doesn't make for pretty reading.. He is still our forward leader providing us with invaluable go-forward , not to mention ball playing creativity.

Toddy wil be sorely missed if he is out for an extended period.

Calling it a day? You are kidding me !

Agree. Bad news for Payten though, he was defending well and now the Tigers front row stocks are being tested.

meh no big loss really, TBH he hasnt really been that impressive for a few years now.

back row of
ellis
fulton
heigno

bench of

cayless
moors
fifita

with KG and Bryce starting, i really dont think we will miss him that much, especially offensively

Fifita has quite some maturing to do, he got frustrated out there tonight…and is a long way off starting front rower.

I agree with jasetiger....Payten is an important part of our pack and attack, him not being there yet another reason for the sluggish 2nd half

fifita had a bad start tonight but the rest of his game was great and didnt let the drop ball and penatly he conceded get to him, the run where he palmed off 3 of them and got the offload to fulton as he was falling was a show of his true ability and the fact that it help take JT out of the game was even better and fox sports are saying JT is gone for the season too.

It's a blow to lose Todd. 6 weeks is nasty and for it to be his calf again, well thats frustrating!

As for the initial thought about his long term future. Honestly perhaps it's something he'll consider but i feel he's got at least another season left in him.

It's a shame for Todd, but I'm not too concerned about losing him. Doesn't make enough metres to be a prop, but he does okay in the backrow without threatening the line. Moors or Cayless can fill in for him.

We lose that ball playing forward, but Heighington has been doing well in that role of late.

Its not his role…we like to promote the ball, throw it around- hes like an extra back/pivot for us...beautiful hands

When Paytens firing the tigers are firing.Big loss, but unlike in years gone by their are now options. I would like to see Gower given a chance.
