The kid has played 11 NRL games and will not be at first grade level until he has played 50 games.
We don’t need short sightedness in a rebuild.

One of the most relented players in the team but with his growth and ball playing ability former 5/8 he has to start at centre for the rest of the season.

Yet another player with 'potential' we cling to, but as of yet he has proven nothing exciting. It's not like when Greg Inglis came out for example. Adequate player but I wouldn't get your hopes up till he does something awesome.

How many Greg Inglis’ come around?

I know but I'm saying he hasn't been a standout rookie so I would expect Momorovski to replace him next year. Tommy to be in the first grade squad but I'd expect him not to be consistently in the team ? Get better, use opportunities that arise. If he was a Inglis I'd say consider him a permanent starter 2021

Its unfair to compare rookies in our roster to those from other teams.... We start kids in a defensive system that is under duress every single game, we ask more of them in the way of dealing with pressure and learning in a defensive structure that is always falling to pieces, and at present our attacking systems are also non existent.

we put our kids to the torch... If we put Kepoa outside him, we will likely stunt his progress. We need to find a pro winger who will talk him through games defensively and make him comfortable. He needs a tradesman to guide him through his FG apprenticeship period, and allow him to concentrate on the 1%ers that will build the confidence necessary to make them second nature.

We throw em in the deep end, we dont slot kids into a system.

I don’t think Momo will be replacing him next year.

Momo isn’t even signed for next year.

I think he has been good most of the year, but has trailed off the last couple of games. Last night was terrible.

Lot to ask for 1st full year in first grade, and if we had any other decent players you would look to give him a week or two off.

He’s a product of the team, who all showed much better form and commitment early on, but it has dipped dramatically. Even a player of Grant’s calibre can’t maintain good form in such a struggling team.

i think momo has the same problems as talau though, which is bad considering hes 3 years older
5 tries 5 line breaks from a player who doesnt get anywhere near the amount of ball nofo does isnt too bad hes also avg well over 100 metres a game yes he makes mistakes but hes a rookie they always do

yes his defence sucks but so does nofo and half the wingers in the game

Yes, i think we don't need to throw out the baby with the bath water here..
On the other side though, when I compare his performance against others (eg Shawn Blore, Sam McIntyre) then you can see how some players appear to have a quicker impact then others.

Well McIntyre was a slow burner.

Sure, I can understand that with time a player develops. They say around the 50 first grade games mark. He has good leg drive and some potential. BUT , how do you change a slow winger to all of the sudden into a fast winger which is what wingers are supposed to be & is something our team lacks. I mean, the fastest player in our team is our clumsy 5/8 Brooks.!
Or am I missing something here?

Yes, the fact that he is not a winger.

I don't think Talau is playing in his correct spot ......but how do you sho you can play 6 when you are out on a wing

I imagine he is on the wing out of necessity

But if he is going to play in the back 5 I agree ....he needs to find some speed

Really? I thought he signed this year till 2022. Well it was reported that had to happen before they could swap.

Okay then, so that must mean that he is a forward , because anybody playing in the 3/4 needs to be fast ,so what’s his position?

Who is our goal kicker next year. Not Talau.

There's been lots of very good centres that weren't known for their pace, Hodges being one of them.

Pace is not a pre-requisite for every spot. Yes we need it badly, but that's because our wingers and fullback lack it completely.

Where exactly is he going to find speed if he is not fast, that intercept against the roosters the other week, most fast wingers score from an intercept in the same position, if it was the other way around and say Brett Morris got that intercept, do you think he would have been rundown? Morris is 34 years old !!!!

A decent sprint coach will always find a yard or two ...especially in the first 5-10 yards ...probably the most crucial yards on the footy field

The other way sprint coaches help is maintaining your high end speed for longer

Now I understand what that Idiot Ivan Cleary meant by ‘getting On the bus!’ He in fact was referring to our backline, slow like a bus. He was right!!
