Too Early For Humble Pie?

Add in 4 wasted points against Penrith and Melbourne and we're sitting in 5th spot which wouldn't have been a bad 1st half of the season..

I hope I'm wrong, but we seem to be getting worse as the season rolls on. I can see us slacking off in games and simply not turning up for others. Half way through the season and we're still pretty clunky.

We'll need some luck to scrape into the 8 if we don't start putting together more complete performances.

5th spot doesn't really reflect our footy of the last 3 or 4 weeks but I guess you could say the same thing about the Roosters.... Although I haven't seen their games bar last week only going by their losses

We might be making the same point...not sure

@weststigers How we can still slack off in some games and not turn up for others, I'll never know. You'd think the amount of 50/60 point thrashings we've had would have beaten that out of us by now.

We might have another big score coming up against the Bunnies. If we're going to cop a hiding it'll surely be at Bankwest if previous results are anything to go by! :joy:

Clunky is right. Our backline plays are so obvious to the defence it's embarrassing at times. Like a slow-mo training run.

I think the attack was better last night, there was less of that clunky stuff and I think Thomo at fullback and Mbye at centre helped.
But we still tried a few slow-motion out-the-back plays in the 2nd half which were once again easily read and shut down.
If we can see that, I'm pretty sure the staff can see it so fingers crossed we either get it out of the game or add some variation to it so it's not so slow and easy to see who the receiver will be.

When we can actually string a run of good performances together I will go for the humble pie. Even last night there was a lot of rubbish mixed up with the good.

We are only a couple of quality players away from a good side but till we get them it will be the same old same old, some good days mixed with plenty of bad days

Ha, yeah that place is a disaster for us

Lacking pace... It's been said hundreds of times... So frustrating if we manage to create an overlap the defence can easily recover due to our boys running in sand impersonations

Ayyyee

we're not making the 8 this year brother. I'll bet you $1,000 if you want.

Yeah, I can't remember where I said recently we would. Maybe read the post directly below the one where I quoted you. I was more pointing you out as one of those supporters who gets a kick out of us losing so you can beat your chest about how you are right that we suck.

@GNR4LIFE well he won’t be beating anything today, because we won hahaha

wont mince my words, I think we have a terrible side, but they are playing as good as they can tbh and that keeps me positive.

when teams want to turn it on like roosters/canberra/parramatta game, even at our best, we would've lost comfortably

But we do suck right? We are the worst performing team of the past decade. Isn't that common sense? Identifying consistent mediocrity is an admission of a need of change which hasn't happened in a decade. I'm sure you watch NFL; NHL )Stanley cup; NBA; PBA et al), EPL right? And see how the sporting organisation as a business is run. Nothing is changing with the tigers.

Where did i say "I get a kick out of us losing"" verbatim? or are you suggesting it was implied? By that are you also implying $20,000 worth of memberships; memberships watching junior grades back in the days of Sirro; Elias to travelling to watch Lima; Farah; Hoffman; De Goiss; Borg; Teddy; Moses; Brooks; Nathan Brown et al?

I suppose beating my chest is the right way to stand up to a system that doesn't work and a team that is consistently inconsistent. But I suppose you like us eating humble pie so yeah that's fine mate.

Loook at The Pels. They're one of the worst teams but they just picked up Zion likewise with the Grizz, they're getting the next Russ the beast Ja Morant. So how are the tigers rewarded for placing 9th,10th,11th every year?

end of the day we want the tigers to do well but we're just not a good side. Full stop.

I don't care about your supporter resume and who you watched come through the lower grades. And yes, I did imply you get a kick out of it. As an example, after the Souths game when you came back to this thread that hadn't been posted in in weeks to laugh and ask if it was still too early. And I fully expect you to do the same the next time we lose, because that's the kind of supporter you present yourself as on here.

We aren't in the top echelon of sides in the comp

We are one of the sides in that group from 7th -14th

Big point is every one of those sides has made the Top 8 since 2011 and some on a semi regular basis

Try and paint it however you want since the inception of the Wests Tigers we still have the worst record of all the clubs who have been involved as long as we have
