Top Five Dirty Players

No of the current players match it with those from a bygone era.

Greg Bird
Isaac Luke
Sam Thaiday
Steve Matai
Jeremy Smith

Gallen would have made it in years gone by and Ennis is a grub, but his niggle is generally harmless cause he is soft, the above mentioned do damage with their cheap shots.

I noticed a few put Packer in, i dont think Ive ever seen Packer do anything cheap.

I'm assuming the people that are putting Packer in are still filthy at the one incident where he knocked the ball off the tee when Benji was getting ready for a kick-off?

and ummmm Bird

He is scum to put it mildly

you should probably put gallen too, he's NSW's other top non-tigers player

in no particular order (they're all as grubby as each other):
thaiday (3rd man)
smith (you name a body part and he'll pull it, squeeze it, poke it, yank it…)
slater (inventing the "leading in with the knees after a try is scored" tackle, not to mention what he did to skando)
hodges (general thug, the slit throut gesture, wanting to fight after game two)
myles (never had a problem with him till this series)

soward from dragons
thurston from cowboys
ENGLISH FROM BUNNIES
George Rose from manly
but ennis is by far the stand out he doesnt know how to play foot ball with out niggling and playing dirty all the time

Surprised that there's no Slater in there. He's a grub from way back.

Hasn't Billy redeemed himself by now, I thought most people's opinion of him changed when he saved the 'Wolfman' David Williams from serious further injury last year in the Battle Of Brookvale.
I remember watching the game live on TV and didn't see the incident at the time as it occured in back play and only saw it on replay, it was a totally unecessary act on Skando but he did pay for it at the judiciary and his reputation.

When Lockyer played for Aus under an injury cloud with a broken cheekbone after his first kick Packer his him with a deliberate forearm to the face.

funniest thing i've heard for a while.. mind if i put that in my sig??

Most of the previously mentioned players are more GRUBS than hard/dirty players, Kelly was awesome in his prime, much like a Adrian Morely type of player in his day, hard as nails but prone to the odd brain explosion.
Kelly was the final piece of the Jigsaw that won the Bulldogs 2 premierships in the 80's and Penrith built a side around him that ultimately saw them win the Comp in 1991, sadly Kelly had succumbed to injury by then.
Sent off after the first tackle in an Anzac day clash in 1986 at the SCG against Souths and who can forget the footage of Souths Les Davidson trying to get one up on Kelly in another game, a scrum broke up and Bundy put an uppercut on Kelly that saw his headgear flying but Kelly never flinched, sadly only played a handful of Origin games & was a scapegoat following NSW abysmal efforts in the late 80's, would have gone well for Balmain you know.

Geoff Bugden
Mario Fenech
Steve Linnane
Les Boyd
Danny Williams

I'm sure you mean Mark Bugden mate, Geoff was a gentle giant and won a Rothmans Medal as best & fairest in the league in 1980.

Mark was the grub who played for the dogs at hooker and ended Steve Rogers career.

Hard as they come Leroy

Supposedly he was asked in one judiciary hearing did he hit him with a closed fist and his response was
" When I hit them with a closed fist , they go down like a big bag of s%&t "

Gotta love an honest footballer
