Getting back to paying Overs to attrract decent players

Tigers have tried that, Remember Adam Blair. A solid and decent player but in truth lost his edge and menace with our club.

I'm sure there are a few high priced flops that can be mentioned..(Please don't it is depressing)

I wonder how Big money Merrin will fair in 2016/17

the problem i had with us signing blair was that he was not the right fit for this team.(plus the fact i thought he was the most overrated player in the nrl)
we were gutting our front row to sign a player who played off the back of consistent structured momentum.
we went into the season with galloway,a young woods and next best was an unproven groat.
that was it.
never understood how people couldn't see the danger ahead.

happy that we have finally got some depth in our front row again.

So paying big money for elite players is paying overs?

Players are earning more money these days, especially the top echelon. Paying big money isn't always paying overs.

Players Salaries only increase through Clubs paying overs… Clubs are there own worst enemies!

I cant cop Gus for a number of reasons.

For some one who makes a living from the game he bags it way too much.

He confuses the fans and makes the refs look wrong (when he knows dam well how things are being interpreted) to put pressure on changing the rules to what he wants them to be then what they are.

He takes credit as often as he can, regardless of how little he has to do it with it…..first to wash his hands of perceived failure.

The favourites he plays is annoying.

I hate how he harps on a point for a night.

As someone else , said a lot of that is an act with ( hate to say it but) the over the hill Rabs. Gus has still got the best football brain of anyone I've seen, and most of the big ideas that he comes up with are , when you go into them a bit, good for the game.
Out of all the higher officials in the game, I would rather see most of his ideas implemented, rather than any of theirs, come to think of it, hardly any of them have any ideas at all
I think that when he eventually moves on from the Panthers, that he will go to another club , and will do the same good job for them.
You could spend the whole game listening to Wally if you really want to have a bad night, :brick:
