Is he defense coach at Titans?
Thought he was S & C?
Either way we lack severely in both areas

The article that talks about his sacking refers to him as the defensive coach and shows him in that role

But you could be right about the S & C

The bloke spent 8 years in the role , must of been pretty good at it , assistant rarely last that long at a club

Great defender and a great footballer.

Unfortunately that doesn't make you a great coach.

Why was he sacked?

Have you seen their missed tackles per game at the titans? - Or their slide defence? - No thanks

Definitely not. Even though I have only had limited dealings with him it is my opinion that he struggles with change & having to adapt to the modern game. Micheal Hancock (even though I couldn't stand him as a player)has an outstanding football brain & great mannerism & has done an outstanding job in the lower grades at Brisbane is the sort of assistant you want in your corner.

Apart from the Tigers flogging in Round 2 , they had the lowest ppg against them until the injuries mounted up

For a little bloke he certainly rattled a few cages but in all reality it is coming up to 2015 not 1995 when he had his moment in the sun, fair dinkum we should be recruiting Steve Folkes once again to put the oomph in the D….

You can try and put lipstick on a pig all you want mate.

They have been ordinary for years and he is clearly part of the problem.

We need someone who has great defensive structure to introduce to us. No idea who that is though.

I remember when Teo went to Souths and they made him feel so hopeless he hated it at first. They went over their defensive structure again and again. Teo just couldn't get it but they didn't let up on him….He had to learn what was required of him in every situation....He finally got and it was worth the hard work and humiliation he went through early.

We need that at our club

the irony

Folkes is five years older

Someone being a solid front on, one on one defender shows nothing about his ability to structure an entire team in defence, nor anything about the positioning and decision making side of defence.

Fact is they've been not much better than us for much of the past few years. I don't think he's the answer.

I was thinking the same thing Majere  Lets hope we don't jump from the frying pan into the fire

One thing we all know is that we have a problem with our defence/injuries, so lets get the S/C side of the game fixed up and we might start winning a few games and keeping our men on the field :stuck_out_tongue:
