Yeah what the heck was all the praise about? he did more bad than good lol

Even his try was flukey

Obviously talented but he made a ton of schoolboy errors

Granted yes this is only 1trial and trial’s are just that but just about every other club are raving about at least 1-2 youngsters about to be unleashed? What is going on with our so called youngsters ready to take the next step.
We played against a top 4 side, who had a wind assisted first half, they scored one try from a 40/20 and we had only 12 players defending, and we had a try dissallowed. I thought Dillon looked really sharp, seems to have put more muscle on as well this season. Thought our forwards played over Manly.

Getting some material for the podcast Cochise.
Not much but banter today 😁👍

I think because it was a seemingly long off season that expectations were so high that the second half was a let down.
I agree with everything you've said.
We were solid in the middle, unlucky at times and took away from the first half a lot of positives. 👍

Apparently refs can’t stop play anymore for injuries with the exception of head knocks or unless they deem the injury serious

No idea what Paugas injury was as I couldn’t watch the game
Could you link to an article that mentions this? That is a lot of undue pressure on referees.

Is there a way i can watch the replay of the game? Because i missed it and i am keen to only watch the first half

Good to see someone actually take the weather into account. Played a big part in that first half with Cherry Blossoms kicking game. Did well considering.

I'd give it a miss if I was you...

Highlights were literally Rua in the second half, To'a throughout, Kelma try and Logen Dillon hot/cold first half but showed promise.

Yeah I wouldnt take too much out of that second half , just a couple of reserve/flegg teams bumbling around in NrL jerseys , I dont think Rua would last too long against a full Nrl side looks far from fit

Earl there wasn't a problem 'D' in the first half [which resembled close to a run on side minus Laurie AD etc] having Peach ball playing, in fact we were really solid up the middle against a very big pack.
Our problem was either on the edges or out wide.
The first try, Noffa went too low close to the line and another Kekma was on the ground injured. In the first half [not including a tearaway Tom Terrific] we should have been leading.
For some reason our men at the back allowed ball to bounce which was about the only real serious flaw in our game.
The second half was a game of touch footy from our young boys who were lost.
I'm actually happy with the first half 'trial'
Losers make excuses (e.g. we had a man on the ground) and that we are.

I might be getting old, I seriously saw more in Dillon in 30 minutes than I've seen in Laurie in a season... Having Logan right up his clacker might get Laurie to sharpen up some...

Dillon did some stupid things, But his urgency with the Ball was really good... Whenever he had it, I thought there was a chance of something happening. Seems to have a solid pass, great feet and a bit of strength.... Will be better for the run.

I've already messages from mates who support other clubs asking me "who's the hell is this kid"

You're not wrong mate...

The guy is a natural.
Massive future.

Club needs to invest in him as such.

It amazes me the amount of people who are satisfied with Laurie’s game. He needs to lift.

Dillon had a few nice moments in a trial. I’ll agree he looks a bit of a prospect. Laurie had a very consistent season as an NRL first grader and took out the best player award. Let’s not get ahead of ourselves.

Injury Stoppages – With the exception of head injuries, only a referee, touch judge or The Bunker will be permitted to stop play for an injury. Trainers will retain the ability to stop play where a head injury has occurred. Medical trainers will continue to have unlimited access to the field at any time to treat an injured player.
