Tuquiri

Imo the money spent v game time and performance on field, he has been our worst signing the WT have ever made, and should put his hand up right now and walk away from the game before he sucks more life out of us this season. He is clearly past it and i'm tired of cringing every time the ball goes near him.
Him and Moltzen are becoming the Fitzy of the Tigers.

No winger will shine when their forwards can't hold the ball or get out if their own half.

Lote was bought as a finisher, not a yards tank.

This is 2 weeks in a row there has been a thread bagging Tuqiri.
He isnt the problem and imo had a very good game.

Get rid of tuquri. John grant will be better than him

Lol so when he scored 20 odd tries in 2010 what was your thoughts? Worst signing ever lol you must be a noob

Any half decent winger (on half the salary) can score tries on the end of a Tigers back line that is in firing. If you understood what i said for the amount of time he has actually spent on the park compared to the $ he's been paid and last years performances he is really not up to 1st grade rugby league standard any more i dont care what anyone says i know it when i see it and it's very clear to me.

He isnt the problem. But there are two things about him he should note:

1) Dont dummy half run, the markers catch him before hes away. Get into first receiver and charge.
2) When he gets the ball, he always runs side ways looking for someone to dummy too. Hes a big guy, just run hard and straight.

He isn't the only back to dummy half run. I think it is a part of our teams game (which sucks!). Ryan often runs form dummy half, as does Ayshford (Lawrence seems MIA). I think it is a (bad) game plan strategy to give the forwards time to get back into position.

weird…..I said he was inefficient since end of last year and you guys blasted me. Now he is back and still as bad

Tuquri was initially a great buy and did well in his first year. Last year was practically a write off with various injuries and has been ineffective since back end of last year. We're now in 2012 and he is in his last ever season in NRL for sure. He walked or jogged most of tonight, but ok I'm prepared to concede he is still not 100% fit and may improve a little more with each game, but don't see any massive improvement as an impact player happening anytime soon like his former glory days.

One thing is for sure, his hit ups are no where near as effective as Beau or even Utai. Tuquri seems to jog to the line and gets picked off so easily. He is completely hopeless from dummy half. Can't remember the last time he actually broke through a tackle.

I wouldn't say Tuqiri is the sole reason we are losing but I don't think he is ever going to get a man of the match performance either. If you were going to pick your best team in order of player importance I would doubt many people (being completely honest) would select Tuqiri in their first 10 picks which says a lot for his lack of impact.

Of course that is the strategy, but it isnt a bad one. Every team in the comp employs it and have done so for 15+ years….

The problem with Lote doing it IMO is that he is too tall and it takes him too long to pick the ball up and get winding. He effectively makes 1 meter and wastes a tackle. As Milford said, when used in this way he should stay out of dummy half and take a hit up as first reciever.
