Tuquri - This Week

Am I the only one worried about Tuqiri's imminent return so close to the semi's? There are alot of people on this forum that think it's just a given that he should walk straight back into the side at Utai's expense?

Personally I think it will take him too many games to find his best form (understandably). I know it won't happen but honestly I can't see a spot for him. Utai & Ryan are playing too well.

I think Utai at the moment (brain explosions and all) will bring more to the team than Lote would. Utai makes so many metres.

If anything I would have put Lote to fullback but Moltzen is playing well enough to keep the spot. I really hope Utai stays at 5 and does not get dropped.

Thoughts?

Odds are Utai will make way for Lote, which is fair enough, but I'd keep Utai on the bench at the expense of McKinnon.

He will be under done, but still two weeks till finals. He is a much better option than Utai, especially in defence.

No way. Utai has been making too many silly errors and it's going to cost a game soon. He's also atrocious under the high ball - too short and can't jump. Tuqiri is an all around good winger. He can get good metres up the field to take the pressure of the forwards. He's good with the high ball - can jump high. He's also faster than Utai and can finish off a try much better. Overall he's just an overall classy winger and must be in the side.

Agree 100%

Just on Lote, channel 10 sport showed him running the stairs at Coogee with Skando and struggling from the look of it, Skando looked to be doing it easy in comparison. Channel 9 sport showed the same footage with Weidler speaking to Lote and the big fella was definitely short of breath. Anyway, hopefully he gets a few miles in the legs this week and can make it out against the GC next Monday.

The rest of the team took part in a recovery session at Coogee beach and on the parkland across the road from the Coogee Bay Hotel. Just hope no one bought an ice cream afterwards :sign:

Tuquri was limping badly on national naan news tonight… Anyone else see it... Hoping lore was just jeering up for the cameras!!!

Yes definitely not chocolate ice cream

Lote would not have been doing a lot of heavy duty running lately, wot we saw on the news tonight I believe was the result of a lot of lactic acid in his legs, hence the wobbles..
He was running stairs which is unlike anything on a flat surface, I tip him to be in good nick against titans!
Also would have wade out, utai to bench lore to start

utai playing too well??? have you watched the last 3 weeks???

pft

it's Lote Tuqiri

this guy would walk into ANY rugby league or rugby union side if he felt he was ready

You need the experience of tiquiri. It might take hom a few weeks to find his feet and get some form but that's why he should play this week. Two games under his belt should be plenty before the semis.
Utai to the bench would be ideal, he can cover for the backline or in the 2nd row if need be.

Utai may make way for Tuquiri, moving to the bench with McKinnon making way. Utai is such a strong runner and he always picks up an extra 5 or so metres when he gets the ball.

Yes Utai makes good metres and I'd like to keep him in the side, but the first time you see Lote steaming down the sideline you'll realise it is great to have him back!

I agree with this. Channel 10 said nothing about him struggling or being injured, but Channel 9 made it look like he was either still injured or unfit. In reality the guy was mid session and if he was pushing himself as he should, there has to come a point where he looks tired and uncomfortable. Can't cruise through every session or there would be no point! Skando did look fit, but who knows how many trips up the stairs they had both done.

Looking forward to having Lote back. Would like to see utai given a go off the bench. Could be a good impact player late in each half, though more likely just to come on late in the game from what we have seen from Sheens.

exactly!
A half fit Tuquiri is better than either of our wingers

No brainer, as long as he is not going to injure himself further he is in the team, same for Chris Lawrence.
