Nah Spartan, someone (first time poster,) posted something on this under this title, and the OP was about "buying" followers on Twitter from some other social networking site and converting some of them into customers for business gain… Seems they have deleted their post or one of the mods have?
You're right though, celebrity worship is pathetic and reflects on how little we value our own lives when we follow people who are celebrities simply for the sake of being celebrities.
