Tyson Gamble

Has got to be a massive upgrade on JLJ and Rankin

No longer calling on the likes of JLJ and Rankin can only be a good thing, but Gamble may well be too good for reggies.

That would be a great outcome for WTs. You can almost write the script if that happened. The Broncs hoping for a debilitating case of homesickness exacerbated by the bucks payed to Bird who is having second thoughts.

Got a good feeling about this kid and he has had a good mentor this year in Benji at the Dolphins. I think he will be beating the door down to get a run in FG which will be great considering our halves hammies this year.

If all goes well 2019 will be interesting with Gamble and Brooks off contract as well as Nathan Cleary.

Geez everyone quick to set very high expectations of an ISP half that the broncos don't want. Look I have only seen some highlights so am sure others know a lot more about his potential and I do hope he becomes a genuine option. But at this stage I'm expecting him to be nothing more than a back-up back-up half.

Do we even know if he is in top 30?

Why wouldn't he come this year ASAP? He pretty much has half a season of guaranteed first grade if he did.

With Teddy playing two more Origins and Moses gone. Plus Brooks hamstrunged out.
It would have been good to have Gamble already in the halves and LoLo at fullback

How so? Brooks at half, Tui at 5/8 doesn't leave a spot vacant as far as I can see. Are you, perhaps, thinking that Brooks' hamstring issues may see him on the sideline for the rest of the season?

Agree, any improvement to our halves stocks would be very welcome.

With Teddy out for two more Origins and any injuries/suspension to Brooks , LoLo or Teddy could give Gamble an opportunity in NRL if he was here.
I would have also liked to see LoLo at fullback this year, when Teddy is unavailable.. I can't see Gamble's price tag pushing us over the cap. Or maybe we are right on it and can't put anyone new in.
Don't know how Melb had space to fit Nate Miles in , did they release someone or just have room?

Yeah, nah the Storm wouldn't be doing anything illegal.
They got rid of the one and only crook years ago after the salary cap debacle. They're cleanskins now, lol

You're right. How did the Storm fit Nate into their cap? Plus, he wouldn't have been in their top 25 so what's the story there?

Hope people are watching Gamble play against the PNG Hunters. Can also goal kick. Doing well so far, quite nimble.

I live in Brisbane and seen a few of Gamble's games. I have made comments previously but I'll do it again. He has good five eight hands and soft at times, adept short kicking game and like all Queensland halves he reads defence structures well. It is great that Ivan is giving him an opportunity.

The only reservations are those for all players is the jump from ISC to the NRL. It is a huge leap in terms of defensive patterns and I would like to see how he copes with the types of Waerea Hargreaves charging down. I am sure that Ivan will walk him because he is a real talent and well regarded in Queensland.

Talking about Queenslanders the guy we should be talking and looking about is Tom Opacic. He should be already playing in the NRL.
