Unpredictability becoming predictable?

Hi all

I dont often start threads but was watching last nights game closely, in particular the Panthers defense.

Yes we won the game (only just) but it appeared to me that on most occasions the Tigers were trying to play "fancy" football but really the Panthers weren't concerned, and weren't really stretched defensively.

They just seemed to watch us step and dummy and carry on and then just smash us.

There is a place for razzle dazzle, the difference betwee the Tigers being a contender or an average to good side is concentrating more on laying a platform through the forwards first.

I dont want our style to be killed off, just tempered a little so that when we do switch it on the opposition isn't as prepared.

I hope that makes sense, it just seems like commonsense that this is what the guys need to concentrate more on.

Yeah you do make sense . We are almost addicted to trying to create 2nd phase at every chance when at times we just need to hang on to the ball and play out the set and good kick chase . many of the balls dropped last night were either forced passes , or guys trying to create something from a low percentage play . I think we are far more dangerous when we get good go forward from our forwards and create something from that Sterlo just made a good point you need to earn the right to go sideways and its very true Too often we try and create after a couple of weak hit ups .

Its hard to work out what happens.

Its the same with my junior side.

I heard Robbie almost immediately after the game saying "we're too lateral, you need to earn the right to spread it by going forward first"

Immediately after the game!!
They knew what they were doing wrong….but during the game they cant correct it or rectify it?

Valid Point, and I think Peter Sterling made same comments today on footy show, and if the players know this why are they still doing this? For those at the ground was there much being said by Robbie to the team after the last try by the Panthers

im no professional, but it seems like they are trying to put plays on but have no idea what play???They look flat out confused about whos involved, where to run n when to execute.Which = FRUSTRATION FOR EVERYONE INVOLVED.looking terribly unorganised.

There was a thread about team harmony. While i dont think we have team morale issues,im seeing alot of frustration from players with each other.Tim sheens needs to sort this asap.

just my thoughts???
