Updated Wests Tigers logo

I'd like them to go with something like this…

To be honest I was a little dissapointed with the logo when it was first released. I have since become used to it and believe it does adequately reflect our brand, particularly amongst the kids. However I don't understand why we have a Western Suburbs Magpie on one sleeve and not a Balmain Tiger on the other.

This would then show each club independently, plus our combined logo representing the merged entity. This then would also be an adequate jersey to depict our heritage in our under 20's team - AND OUR SINGLE STATE CUP SIDE.

The magpie on the sleeve was a concession for the fact the club was going to have a Tiger as its main logo.

The Magpie, on its own, without being in an emblem ect is quite classy IMO

They have many things Management can change and improve, but the Wests Tigers Logo that has been in place since our inception, isn't one of them…..Let It Be!!

Agree

Yeah leave it alone. When a club is still relatively young you don't want to make too many changes - there is now a history building with that logo and it would be a shame to change it now.

Canterbury is returning to a more traditional logo next season:
and parra maybe: So, could we do it?

Nothing Personal Mate: Any Suggestion of such a move would be madness.

Research around has the Tigers Logo rated as the best of all Australian sporting codes.(I agree however some may say Im slightly biased).

As a holder of Business and Marketing degrees, this ticks all the boxes. Design, colour, Online presence and recognition factors. It has at least another 10 years life in it.

PS - The other teams logos have been crud, Im not suprised their changing them especially the dogs logo, The facial expression looks as though it is deficating....

im starting to get sick of the Wests side of this marriage.. they do nothing but whinge and b**** and cause problems

Not much to say about that stupid post except that if you would like a divorce that would be ok. However you had better start looking for another team to follow as there will be no Balmain.

Yeah leave the logo as is.I's one of the best in the NRL:If anything the magpie could be bigger….

After discovering that they ripped the logo aff some American team I wish they would change it NOW!!!

But, most people wouldnt know that it has been copied and so they might not want it changed anyway.

Maybe we havn't changed it because there havn't been any new Tigers logo's that have popped up overseas that we can copy yet lol.

But ours is the original and honestly we should no change it as we have only had it for 10 years and it is a fairly popular logo and is also recognisable compared to some other logos out there.

Not ours first University of Santo Tomas have been using that logo sonce 1992-93 and the Florida Panthers 1993, I like our logo and I wouldn't change it specially after ten year.. If you did a search you could probably find many more teams using the same logo who cares ours is the only one that says :sign:

The University of Santo Tomas have had their current mascot since 1992-93 but the logo is not that old and is certainly a rip-off of our logo.

As for the comparison between the florida panthers and our logo,

Our logo does resembl theirs but it is not a rip-off of it, if anyone created a logo with a leaping feline it woud look similar, there is a possibility that the designer used it as inspiration but it is not a rip-off, if it was then our logo would be a full bodied tiger not just the head and paws. Also Florida have only just this year released a new logo with a bodyless panther, it has never been used by them before, so it makes it even less likely that we ripped the logo off them.

And so it is alright that 1 half of the JV name is quite markedly bigger than the other,I am sure if it was Wests in bold and Tigers in little font below we would hear just as big if not bigger whinging.

both parties need to get over it… we are not the Balmain side, we are not the West Magpies.. we are the Wests Tigers. the tradition of both teams died when we merged... but seems half of the marriage (and half the forum) cant get over it and will do anything to make sure either side is PRONOUNCED eg in the logo.. and it seems more and more its the Magpies side.

u want the team to move forward we need to ditch the 50/50 or how ever u see it board and make it totally new... if the old die hards cant get over it its their problem to deal with...

Some need to get over this Balmain Tigers and Wests Magpies rot, and having both the same size is the correct way and the way it should have been from the start, just like it’s the Parramatta Eels, the Canberra Raiders etc, we are technically the Wests Tigers Tigers.

Parramatta is that clubs name with the Eel is their mascot/emblem, Canberra is that clubs name with the Raider as their mascot/emblem, our clubs proper name is Wests Tigers and the Tiger is our emblem/mascot. From the outset both parts of the club name should have been equal size to reflect the clubs correct name, having half of it large and the other half small gave the wrong impression that the clubs name was Wests and the Tigers was just the emblem, it was actually poor marketing of the club.

The image of the Tiger reflects the clubs emblem, and the words Wests Tigers represents the clubs correct name or brand as they would refer to these days and should be of equal size.
