both parties need to get over it… we are not the Balmain side, we are not the West Magpies.. we are the Wests Tigers. the tradition of both teams died when we merged... but seems half of the marriage (and half the forum) cant get over it and will do anything to make sure either side is PRONOUNCED eg in the logo.. and it seems more and more its the Magpies side.

u want the team to move forward we need to ditch the 50/50 or how ever u see it board and make it totally new... if the old die hards cant get over it its their problem to deal with...

Keeping it 50/50 isn't keeping the club from moving forward. You are talking rubbish again. Just like how on the old Wests Tigers forum you said that the Wests Tigers should move to Gosford :laughing:

Sorry mate but we aren't going to ditch the 50/50 and forget about the history of Balmain and Western Suburbs just to suit people like you. The agreement of the joint-venture was to keep it 50/50\. If you want to support a totally new club where it forgets about its roots then you better look for another club to support. I think you need to get over it :slight_smile:

I know Western Suburbs and Balmain wont be back playing in first grade and I accepted that along time ago. I'm not sure what you mean by "can't get over the merger"? I have supported the joint venture since it started. That doesn't mean we should forget where the Wests Tigers came from. You are basically saying we should just be a completely new club without any ties to Wests and Balmain. I'm sorry mate but we aren't going to do that and we are not moving to Gosford. You whinge more than your so called "whingers". Get over it.

And for the record I'm 29\. The "fossils" will be around for quite a while yet :wink:

The current Wests Tigers logo is the traditional logo. Been there since Day 1.

That is not quite the case, the logo changed slightly in 2005

Original (2000-2004)


Current (2005-Current)


They changed the logo because the word TIGERS was bigger than WESTS and there was backlash from the wests side.

Then they should have taken the magpie off the shoulder cant see balmain on the other side

Some need to get over this Balmain Tigers and Wests Magpies rot, and having both the same size is the correct way and the way it should have been from the start, just like it’s the Parramatta Eels, the Canberra Raiders etc, we are technically the Wests Tigers Tigers.

Parramatta is that clubs name with the Eel is their mascot/emblem, Canberra is that clubs name with the Raider as their mascot/emblem, our clubs proper name is Wests Tigers and the Tiger is our emblem/mascot. From the outset both parts of the club name should have been equal size to reflect the clubs correct name, having half of it large and the other half small gave the wrong impression that the clubs name was Wests and the Tigers was just the emblem, it was actually poor marketing of the club.

The image of the Tiger reflects the clubs emblem, and the words Wests Tigers represents the clubs correct name or brand as they would refer to these days and should be of equal size.

The Western Suburbs Magpies would have been back at Campbelltown.
