VB NSW Cup Finals Series LIVE on Fox Sports and it's set to kick off in Prime Time

The 2013 VB NSW Cup Final Series will be launched in style after Fox Sports and the NSWRL have agreed to show a match in week one of the competition’s Final Series in prime time on Sunday (15/9/2013) night.

The selected match, brought to you live from Leichhardt Oval, will be shown on Fox Sports 1 from 6pm with kick-off at 6.10pm.

Following one of the most successful Final Series ever in 2012, week’s two and three of the Final Series will once again be played as double headers at Leichhardt Oval with match times reverting to the traditional 1pm and 3pm time slots.

The broadcast matches for week’s two and three will be the 1pm fixtures, again shown live on Fox Sports 1.

“The coverage of live VB NSW Cup games on Fox Sports this year has been outstanding and the agreement to broadcast the week one match in prime time is another positive for the competition,” NSWRL Chief Executive Officer David Trodden said.

“The VB NSW Cup has produced 40 debutants for the National Rugby League this year and there is a real sense of anticipation about this year’s Final Series.

“With the closeness of the competition, we still aren’t able to predict who will finish where which is exciting more than anything.

“The Jets and Tigers showed last year that all you need to do is get yourself into the top-eight and anything is possible so we expect this year’s Final Series to be one to remember.”

With the Cronulla Sharks having already sewn up the 2013 Minor Premiership, attention now turns to the logjam on the ladder around the all important top-four and also eighth position.

The North Sydney Bears and Newcastle Knights are only being split by points differential in second and third with the Newtown Jets currently holding onto fourth place from a desperate Windsor Wolves outfit.

The battle for eighth position is just as interesting with Wentworthville, Mounties and Illawarra all still a chance of sneaking into the Final Series.

The VB NSW Cup Finals Series will continue to mirror the system currently in place for the NRL with 1 v 4, 2 v 3, 5 v 8 and 6 v 7 all playing one another in week one, but please bear in mind that until the final makeup of the top eight is locked in, the league will not be in a position to confirm the cross section of clashes for week one.

Below is the VB NSW Cup Finals Series schedule including broadcast times for the Fox Sports matches as well as the kick off time for the VB NSW Cup Grand Final at ANZ Stadium.

This is great news except the fact the GF will be played on the same day as the NRL Grand Final again…

Why cant the ARLC step in and put an end to this poor scheduling and ensure there is a Plate/Trophy for the NSW Cup Winner vs the Qld Cup Winner on the NATIONAL Grand Final Day???

C'mon losing three grand finals can't hurt that much can it ??

Actually (and I know it must get boring for you blokes who don't know the BRL , but I never tire of these chats with Watto ) have Easts ever beaten Wests in a BRL Grand Final ??

0/6 if memory serves isn't it ??
