Was just watching Bonstonkers Vengence video again Great stuff Bon ,still sends a chill up my spine

My question is "Is that side and its skill dead" ??

Or can they find it again in 2013 ??

I love that video. He makes great videos.
On topic - I really hope so. It hasn't died yet… We still have a side CAPABLE of producing that kind of stuff. Although the Roosters game at LO was one we don't want to remember there were some glimpses of brilliant play - hole running, long range tries, shifting the ball and individual brilliance and line breaks.
Definitely keeping faith.

Yes we can.

I think the thing we need to fix immediately is the mentality of Marshall.

In 2010/2011, we had Lui. Whether you thought he was a good player or not, he was at least capable of running a game, calling shots from the play the ball, driving the team forward. This allowed Benji to play his natural game of thinking off the top of his head, looking for overlaps etc.

This season, Benji had all the responsibility of running the team. None of his halves partners ever had the confidence or the vision to drive the team forward, leaving Marshall to have to think about what was the best way to get metres every set. That kind of weight doesn't sit well with Benji, and the team sometimes lost its way or panicked when it didn't have to.

Find a stable halves partner, and most of the problems we had this season should be fixed.

The skill is there. The mentality is not. That, along with the structure of the side needs to change for next season.

Yeah, that's another of Bon's best! Watching that again, a couple of things are clear. Benji needs to be able to concentrate on his own game, not steering the team. Keithy needs to find top form as does Blake. Hopefully Lawrence will continue to recover from his hip injury.

To add to that, get Benji back to 5/8, a #7 who is actually a halfback, a proper #1 (Once Tedesco gets back to where he was he will do so much more than Moltzen), Koro's speed on the wing to replace Ryan (and hopefully some more speed in the centres) and on the back of some decent forward work to give Robbie some room, the magic will be there.

Tigers were very weak in defence & on form were never a premiership chance, even if they made the top 8.
At times some of the players were pathetic & embarrassing to watch.
Huge challenge for new coach.
Club should offer to release any player that wants to go.

That side had 2 things that the 2012 side did not. They had a pack of forwards that busted their guts and they had a halfback.

The 2012 side saw the emergence of a potentially mighty prop in Woods and the continued improvement of Fulton as well as the re-emergence of Farah as a dominant strike weapon. It suffered from the absence due to injuries and poor form of Gal, Ellis, Heighno, Groat and the loss of Gibbs. The forwards need a lot of work during the off season.

The 2012 side also suffered majorly from the absence of Lui in the halves and Sheens's inability to find a replacement and stick with them. The vengence side was dangerous because Benji had a lot of room and a more diminshed role within the side due to Lui's handling of the boring, dirty work. They were given the field position and/or the room to put long range tries on and opposition sides held off Marshal out of fear. This was coupled with injury and poor form from almost the entire backline.

IMO there is a hell of a lot of work to be done to get this side back into the form that saw them rampage home in 2011\. I believe it can be achieved, but more so in 2014 than next season. Time will tell I guess.
