Round 1: Las Vegas Discussion / *Spoilers*

Im fine with that if they also play the ball where the tackle is made. I get more annoyed seeing a set die 1m from the line and the ball then played about 6m from the line. Get back to the mark end I'll give you the ball.
Most of the time they don't know where mark was because they have to chase and wrestle with the tackled player to get the ball off him.

2 games into the season and im ready to pack it in. The bias in this game is beyond corrupt.
Agreed , that last penalty was clearly a dropped ball, as well when Kiraz knocked it on off the kick but it’s ruled …. I dunno actually , because Crichton was in front of of him as well , so it was accidental offside at least. But then they’re away down the side , and every single person in the stadium was asking huh? Even the dogs players

PVL is one of the greatest blights the game has had foisted on it in as long as I can remember. Next, we’ll have his obsession with international round. AFL lives rent free in his head. I don’t think he realises how cheap it makes the game look when he has to continually go on about how much more superior it is compared to its main rival. AFL don’t take cheap shots at the NRL cos they don’t need to.

Sorry mate but you’re wrong about this . AFL wishes it could get a 45k crowd in Las Vegas. Not to mention there’s no stadiums outside of cricket playing nations that can even accommodate it.
International round is a good thing . NRL is a 100 times better product than RU , and only because of the royal family in ww2 was RL squashed. It was by far the bigger sport in many British empire countries , and was gaining real traction as being the alternate the elitism of RU in Britain . Especially in France , huge steps were made by the nazis (through the royal family ) to squash the game and outlaw it.
Really as people start to wake up and realise how much of a chore RU is as a spectacle , and NRL globalises , with a hint of NFL razzmatazz , then hopefully the order corrects itself .

Come on….he gets us a good tv deal and he’ll have ticked every box.
The bloke is a weirdo but he’s a terrific administrator.

Vegas is a V'landys ego power trip, much like everything he does in life
as far as racing goes he has done very well. He has destroyed the melbourne autumn carnival races like Newmarket handicap ate mere second rate races compared to TJ Smith stakes and Doncaster etc. Then the Everest has overtaken caulfield cup day in melbourne.

As for rugby league he takes it up to afl every chance he gets

Seems like PVL lives rent feee in your head. He wouldn’t be everyone’s cup of tea but certainly gets a lot of publicity for the game and NRL currently in a good state

I think he has done a lot of good for Rugby League and is a genuine leader. He just let's his ego go to far with things and I dont trust him being influenced by the more powerful at the detriment to the weak

The Vegas experiement IMO has failed on the key outcomes it set out to achieve.

1) Capture the US betting market - they are NOT interested.
2) Capture the US TV market - FTA TV was not interested in showing the game on FTA this year after last years ratings were dismal. Even FOX weren't interested in showing the games on the premier sports channel FOX 1. The games were relegated to FOX2.

I doubt more than 1,000 Americans paid full freight to go to the game, I suspect there were plenty ofg giveaway tickets for Americans.......Most of the fans in attendance were from Oz or UK.`

Once the Vegas hype fades so will taking games there
Chairman Vlandys and his media sycophants will tell you otherwise
