We were competitive, with our backline decimated as it is atm is pretty incredible, and the fact we tried until the 80 was fantastic to see (not used to it from Tigers).

I thought the refereeing was questionable, but we also let in some pretty soft dumb tries. Adam Gee was too trigger happy in the first half because he'd been dropped, but then wasn't consistent in the second. Tigers did some pretty stupid things in the ruck, but I don't think we were that much worse than Manly, certainly not as poor as the penalty count would suggest.

Disappointing Tamou regress so far after playing his two best games. I feel Seyfarth deserves a spot over him when you consider our best 17. Peachey played really good and I think he should keep the 14. It sucks for Madden, but he's better suited to that role imo. We all know To'a isn't a fantastic fullback, he deserves a centre/wing position.

Each one of those missed tackles he got his body in front and stopped the player, it is a misleading stat. Ben Turbo was not his man and he made a huge effort to get him anyway while Gildart was doing pirouettes behind the try line.
Brooks is our only creative player with Laurie out and Laurie can barely be counted.

I think Hastings is better than him. Those Hobbo payouts were great though. Brooks wasn't bad out there. I'm still all for trialing him at fullback.

It'll be interesting how we run out if we have our top team on the park. I'd have Hastings and Doueihi above Brooks but I can't see how Brooks doesn't make the team. I'm not considering their salaries. That will be a longer term issue.

Hasting currently offers control, direction and distribution, he has some limited creativity. He is doing a great job at 7.

Like the play he chased down probably manlys fastest player, against the run of play, he didn’t make the tackle but shut him down enough so the second player could. Essentially saves the try but gets no stat to reward him.

I must be seeing things because I thought To'a was very good at the back. I love the way this guy runs, a proper footballer.
I reckon if Laurie does piss off, To'a would develope into a good fullback moving foward.
