Normally I don't mind the King. Sure he speaks in cliches and a lot of it is gibberish but he's sort of entertaining and let's face it most of the ex-players are rubbish anyway.

But last night I just wanted to slam his massive bald head into a table. If he's not professional enough to sit in a com-box without yelling "Go you good thing" every time Qld makes a linebreak he shouldn't be in there. If you want to yell out stuff, pay your money like every other punter or stay at home and trim the mo…

yet Goulds dribble & bias is acceptable?

Channel Nine is the best at influencing public support for there own agendas… Just look at Andrew Johns. The Best Player in the World Channel Nine could create!

Not saying that at all Watto. My thoughts on Gould have been made pretty clear previously. There's no scope for that sort of barracking when you're calling the game. I could possibly take it from sideline people who you don't hear during the play but when you're trying to watch live action and all you can hear is Wally about to shoot his load it gets annoying. Once was bad, twice was poor, thrice was unacceptable.
 
They all do it Yoss. Gould screams out, Joey does as well. Fatty never held back….they are passionate men highly involved with these fixtures. Nuetral would be boring.

I remember 2 cases in particular.
#1 QLD's miracle try scored by Mark Coyne. Fatty yells out "Yeeaaeeaahhhhhh, what do you reckon about that Sterlo?"

#2 When Hodgo threw that dreadful pass from dummy half and Locky swooped on it to score and win the series for QLD.
Sterlo absolutely gobsmacked, "they....their gonna win" Gus not hiding his frustration, "Ohhhhh Noooooooooooooooooooo!"

Two classic pieces of commentary. I think it adds to the rivalry and the spectacle that even the commentators wear their hearts on their sleeves.
 
Anyone have an issue with Gus throughout the series? Seemed to me he did a lot of sucking up to Qld. He topped it off with his drooling interview of the big 4\. Yes i know he's a commentator for nine and interviews very well, so he had to do it, but it still pissed me off
 
Gus is frustrating all the time, not just SOO. He's a brilliant analyser of the game with some useful insights but that's often buried in a whole stinking pile of garbage. The annoying banter with Rabs, his illogical interpretation of events to support a case he's trying to make, etc etc. Every time Qld score the final try it always gets mentioned but not the reverse. The 2 sides are extremely even - 1 point last year, 2 this year - it's coming down to who executes better and who has performs better under pressure and at this stage that's the Maroons. But a half who hasn't performed in so many games doesn't let you reverse that.
 
No harm no foul.
It's called passion.
The game needs more of it, then maybe we'd have less drama queens turning their backs…. bm
 
Wally is an embarrassment to the game with his so-called commentary, Lockyer is a close run 2nd.
Johns and Fittler need to be punted also.
As we have witnessed many times with coaching, normally the best players make the worst commentators…...maybe it is the ego.
 
Way to dredge up an old thread….

Gus may be a great analyser of the game, but he is always after the fact, rarely if ever commenting in advance to be quantified by successful play following, he is cryptic in advance if anything.

Hands down worst commentator is Ikin.... dont understand how the bloke has a job, most bias drivel ever.
