Warriors Semi vs Roosters Semi

A similar effect from both games, but for differing reasons.

Vs the Rorters I was as cranky as a cut snake because we were ripped off. The disallowed tries cost us big time and kept the Rorters in the match. The Benji slap disallowed try was a pathetic ruling. Throw in the scrum farce at the end (still to this day I do not even know why there was a scrum) and I was ready to throw the refs off the Gap.

Vs the Warriors I was also as cranky as hell, but this time with the players. They let this one go by not treating the Warriors with enough respect. Why we tried to run that play when a deep kick and good chase would have seen us home I'll never know. The fact that this game knocked us out of the semis, too, did not add to my mood.

Purely speaking in terms of being in the moment and how you were feeling, I just can't go past the Roosters game. The feeling at the end of the Warriors game was just one of pure frustration and anger at how we let it get away. On the other hand, the Roosters game left you not knowing how to feel. I don't know about you guyz but after the Roosters game i felt emotionally drained. Never experienced that feeling ever after a game before or after

Just a side point, one of the most underrated victories in our history IMO was the next week game vs the Raiders in Canberra - we were down and out, written off, hostile RECORD crowd, and our boys dug deep and took the biscuits.

Absolutely, that was a really professional and clinical performance.

For me it was the Roosters game, I was working that night as a manager in retail and after the game i walked out of the tearoom and went ballistic at a couple of teenagers who were mucking around in the store. The build up of emotion from that game was unbelievable.
The warriors game just left me feeling deflated and let down.

Roosters for me…could see what was about to happen before it did.
Warriors was just the Roosters all over again a year later...had been there done it - de ja vu.
Spent both w/ends afterwards just shaking my head.

I'll be surprised if we get as close as we have the last couple of seasons for a while.

I think we'll get close again but have big fears that the memories from those 2 games will be in the players heads.

I really hope we dont become the new (parra/saints) semi final chokers

I'm a bit superstitious in the way I believe you need to take your chances when you get them…..you gotta be really really lucky or really really good to get many many chances in a row
Last 2 or 3 seasons with 2 players with career ending injuries and Lui forced to split shows were not lucky, and our inconsistent form tells me were good but not really good as we need to be.
Hope Im wrong

Dragons loss hurt 10x more than both….but id have to say, the warriors loss hurt more than the chooks....
....only because it was our year, and our game to win....

I didnt see the game as i was in the usa. I found out result via text at 3am local time and it was such a surreal feeling. I imagine it was the same as the roosters final in 2010\. I feel asleep and woke up hoping it was a dream. I picked up my phone and the text gbe the real news :frowning:

As many have said in the thread, they both hurt as much as the other.

In the roosters game, we were dominant I thought for the first 60 minutes of that game and probably should of notched up around 2-3 more tries (unlucky Ellis xD). I was a nervous wreck in those dying minutes when Roosters had the ball out about 20m, then felt a HUGE sigh of relief when O'Dwyer put that hit on…and after we lost the ball to the scrum, oh man was I pissed. Roosters on the last play of the game when they ran down the blind slide, coming back in and Anasta taking that field goal attempt. And obviously the 20 mins of extra time was hell..

In the warriors game, I thought we controlled the warriors really well in the first half and could of even avoided that try in the first half if it wasn't for lazy defence. At this stage I was already thinking about Melbourne the week after, but the Tigers attitude in the 2nd half was very different to the one in the 1st half, they seemed much more complacent. I could barely stand watching the last 10 mins or so thinking "oh, not this again.." and as you know, warriors may have scored the winning try so they sent it upstairs..in that time it took for the vid ref to look at the replays etc, many cuss words were used and I was just in complete shock.."We're gone, that's it...finished". Melbourne always did scare me though

I'm ready for round 3 next year  and atleast we haven't had a completely bad finals game yet

Warriors hurt more, we were pretty much handed the game on a platter and still managed to blow it.

The Roosters game was an absolute cracker, and unfortunately the Roosters had just a little bit more than us that night, but we lived to see another day. I was as proud as I have ever been after a loss with this one.

Interesting thought process Ink, I know we've been unlucky in the past, maybe that made up for a few cheap calls in our favour this year?

We robbed ourselves against the Warriors.

Spot on, Tigergirlz! They both hurt real bad, but I choose the Warriors game as the worst loss for the simple reason that it was sudden death and the Roosters game wasn't.

By the way, CB your new avatar is hilarious! You couldn't do that if you tried

Yeah we did get a fair rub of the green this year re: refs at crucial times imo.
Just strengthens my own view personally.

Spot on Ink. With the way the salary cap is these dayz, teams only have a small window of oppurtunity to cash in. Perfect example is the Western Bulldogs in the AFL. They were up there every yr for about 5 yrs and were pre-lim final specialists who never went that extra step, and have now missed their chance and missed out on the 8 this yr. I realy don't want to be sitting here in another 3 yrs saying the Tigers have missed their window and were only pre-lim final specialists

As bad as that was, Heighington should've dropped on the ball. To this day I still can't figure out what he was doing. He falls on the ball it's game over, surely he knew that. As they say, you make your own luck. Still a shocking call.

In regards to a fair rub of the green - all three of Wests, Balmain & WT have suffered terrible calls when we were the whipping boys!!

Look at the early 00s and see how much "discretion" was paid to the likes of the Roosters, Knights, Bulldogs, Dragons by the likes of Harrigan & his cadamites!!

We got some back this year because EVEN the bookies had us in their predicted top 4 after 2010!!!
