Warriors Still in Race for Sheens

If any of this stuff is true it would seem that Sheens retiring from the game as WT coach sometime in the future is not part of his thinking. And, that's a bad thing if he has to stay only because we can't pay him out!! Not much motivation there for 2013!! Humphreys needs to find a way to offload him to Warriors or sack him completely.

If Sheens goes to the NZ Warriors, how long before Benji follows him??

If Benji wants to continue with the same form from 2012 in 2013 …....

my answer would be it can't happen fast enough to be honest

2010 he had a great year.
2011 he had a great year.
2012 he had an up and down year.. specially at a new position

Sheens wont be going anywhere but the Tigers, We dont have the money to sack him. Also with Robbies contract up next year i am certain he will stay if Sheens is coach but may go if hes not our coach, Sheens still would have one year to run after next year.

What worries me is if he goes how many players want to go, some people on here say let Marshall go, let Rhino go, let Ayshford go, we wont have a team, thats what worries me if Sheens goes. This is a team who has had ten years with one man in charge, they all respect him & we all saw that last year when he looked like joining the Panthers. I would keep him for the next two years then bring in a new coach, P.S everyone can now shoot me for those comments.

Mate your absolutely right, but we have to bite the bullet. With our club it's a case of good from far, but far from good.

We will have a team. Ten players aren't going to just leave, this isn't under 15s where you just go with your mates. And if they do stuff them. If Ayshford and Heighno were to leave it would be a blessing, and it would open up money for other players. And before you say who, have you watched the two guys above play? It would not take much to be better than those two. In regards to Marshall, you think many people are going to have a spare 600k up there sleeves to pay him for next year?

The boys respect Sheens cause he's a nice guy. Not many other coaches would put up with the mediocrity and the ineffectiveness of some of our players, and they know it. Thats why they like him. Yes they respect him but you should respect all your coaches. If the boys can't handle change them honestly they can go and get ….. every other club goes through it.

If players want to leave because Sheens leaves then so be it. No one player or coach is bigger than the club - if they want to be Darius Boyd v2.0 then see ya later

Remember when Marshall was going to leave BECAUSE of Sheens? My personal opinion is that Marshall is more connected to the club these days than the coach. I'm sure he still has enormous respect for Sheens but I just don't see him going back to NZ.

There are quite a few anarchists on this forum who are not satisfied with anything less than 'scorched earth',
so everyone shall go including cheerleaders, ball boys, gym renovators, ticket collectors you name it.
Everyone is infected

Come on mate, even Humphreys has complained about the gym renovators - clearly they have to go!!

I thought Heigno was one of our best over the last 5 or 6 rounds, he really started to hit his straps IMO, and you say who has a spare 600k to pay for Benji, look what happened when Luke Lewis came on the market, someone would get him dont you worry

^^^.

Yeah your right about the 600k Im sure some money would fly up, but if Benji wanted to go then let him go. I honestly don't think he would though.

On Heighno, the fact that he was one of our best in the last six rounds just shows how bad we are going. Its the same reason why Beau Ryan was one of our best outside backs this year. Cause everyone else was pretty much rubbish. I think when your going average the guys who try hard, etc are probably the ones who stand out. Heighno may have been one of our best the last month or so but ask the opposition fans what they thought of heighnos performance against them and they'd probably say something like "he didn't worry us" or "didn't really notice him".

Exactly right, it was the same with John Morris. He always tried his guts out BUT whenever he was our best on ground then we were always going to lose the game because the real talents had failed in their job.

Yeah i agree I don't think he will leave.

And im not so sure about Heighno, in the middle of the season when he was down on form I was convinced he was done and wanted to see Fulton at 13 when Ellis returned, but Heighno impressed me once he out the bloody stutter away and started to hit the line with some pace. He was making about 130-150 metres in games and irrespective of how the rest of the team is going thats a solid effort. In saying that, at the end of the day I think at some point, possibly the end of next year, hes going to have to step aside to let some young blood come through like Sirro or Lovett

Thanks for deleting my post - was only saying how i was reporting what the media said - NOT MY OPINION - so for all those on here who think that forum members go ga ga over media reports - we don't - just putting out reports that are out there
