If you have foxtel, this afternoon at 5pm on Fox Sports they are playing the State Cup game featuring Balmain Ryde Eastwood…get a chance to see Blake Lazarus go around before Friday's game!.

He had a couple of nice touches but it was a ordinary game. Balmain kept turning the ball over before the last tackle.

bummer i was geared up for a good game!..still watching it though…am interested in his passing and kicking game...hopefully he can throw a long, flat pass like Moltzen does and has a decent boot on him....

The time I saw him this year he was a class above. He's got a good kicking game and can put someone through a hole well. Tackling though…seems like he is getting his confidence back in that regard.

blake will be this generations andrew johns/alfie langer.

Wow, can you put any more pressure on him?

When Lui came into first grade he had people saying similar things, which set the bar too high, and now he's the no 1 scapegoat.

blake is a very good halfback, , he'll be better than moltzen and lui. this is just what we need a specialist half back. so on friday night sit back in your favourite arm chair , grab a 6 pack, and watch this star of the future..

this is 3 years in the making, the bar isnt set too high, and he is no scapegoat, like tomcat said sit back and watch because what you will see friday is the future australian halfback

I haven't seen much of him play, only highlights. He seems to be a great attacking player…my only question is his defence? Only because I haven't seen it yet, anyone know how he goes in defence? I'll be watching the game on fox tonight to keep my eye on it.

I've got a big opinion of Blake also, I think he could be the best halfback at the club. However, I think if he's hyped up to be the next joey, it could work against him.

It seemed that Balmain trained for the possibility that Blake may not have been with them last week. They used Cowan as a playmaking option quite alot. Interesting game to watch again on replay

Cowan has been used as a plug a lot in recent times since the retirement of Moses. I still am not sure which is our Scottish International's best suited position, but he does seem to enjoy slotting into key playmaking roles when required.

He didn't play that well. Missed a fair amount of tackles and threw two forward passes. Not the best performance tbh but he didn't get too many options.

I hope that wasn;t representative of his normal game (& from what everyones said, especially the above comments on Corby's involvement it's not).
In that game he was not involved anywhere near as much as a halfback should be, didn;t talk/ organise, threw a couple of forward passes and was very ordinary in defence.
That being said there were also a couple of nice moments like the short ball for a try when he body faked long & his speed off the mark. Also his cleanup in behind the frontline.
I'm pretty sure that 1 game was not the Blake Lazarus everyone's talking about but a 1 game imposter.
Geeze i'm looking forward to seeing him play on Friday
Go young fella!!
