Wayne Bennett

Bennett is a good man manager, and I think the set of circumstances at Newcastle at the moment with him and players not being paid would struggle to get the best out of anyone.

I dare say if he cannot continue with Newcastle on the same salary as he was on with HSG he'll jet back up to Brisbane. He'll work wonders with their talent pool as well.

So Darius Boyd goes where?

He will follow Bennett, they only coach he has ever had.

Word is Bennett will be back in Brisbane, and given they have Barba, Hoffman and will have Milford next yr, i don't see where poor little Darius would fit in. But i think everyone can agree we have no chance in hell of luring him.

That's exactly what I was thinking. He might have to leave the bosom. Can't say I'd ever want him anywhere near my team. He's a complete jerk and has no loyalty, passion or commitment towards his team mates. It's all about Darius to Darius.

They will fit them all in:

1\. Barba
2\. Hoffman
3\. Hodges
4\. Copley
5\. Boyd
6\. Milford
7\. Hunt

Yep, Bennett to Brisbane is the big story up here…

He is still a shareholder of Brisbane and Hook is running out of Friends quickly!

no thanks to bennett he wouldn't come with in a hundred yards of wt just up grade potters contract I think he is on 200k a year give him 500k a season for the way he has turn this team around in potter we trust

He wouldn't even think of coming here.

I truly do not rate him as a coach. No I'm not drunk yet.
Here's why:
The bonco's have always had quality players but it was Cyril Connell who was the genius behind it all.

Bennett prefers one-team towns.

The one time he went to a Sydney team he made sure that they had a proven roster. They were regular finalists - all he did was improve their defence.

And remember the Roosters were his first pick (again proven roster and big money)

Coaching teams with good rosters is how you make and keep good reputations.

Case in point - Mal Meninga

Couldn't coach at the Raiders but "invincible" at origin. The only thing he is good at is, turning loyalties to Queensland.

The absolute greatest coach of all time is Jack Gibson. Lifted the Roosters from last to semis (back in 60's), Newtown (easy beats to semis) Parra (who were perenial cellar dwellers at the time)

Tried to change cultures at Souths and Sharks without support.

Agree with you about Gibson

Any coach who has a 66%% winning record is certainly doing his job

Is that all? Wow! Thought he'd be around $300k - $350k - no real reason, haven't given it much thought. Just figured that would be around fair and reasonable for anyone with the responsibility that an nrl coach carries.

I am only quoting what was in the newspapers when he come to the club it would be a hard job for 200k :deadhorse:

200K sounds too much tbh… not more than 150 imo.

no sources, just an opinion thinking that we were probably paying 400K to sheens.. dont think we could afford to pay more than even 100 to a rookie coach who hasnt even won a premiership in superleague.

dont think potter even assisted anyone in the nrl iirc
