We desperately need players back!

After last nights performance we desperately need our injured brigade back. We offer very little without the likes of farah and teddy. Who can we realistically expect back next week v's the sharkies? I think the following will be back straight into the 17;

Farah
Sue
Gavet
Simona

What's the latest on Sironen , Halatau and Tedesco, can we expect a early return form any of these guys some time soon?

Also what's everyone's thoughts on Sitaleki Akaoula? I like him he is aggressive and runs a good hard line. Definitely a player of the future. But I think the few games in first grade have been good for him but he seems to lose it after 20 or 30 minutes and then miss tackles, make silly late tackles etc.

Now I think he would greatly benefit from a stint back in NSW cup to grow his game, he also needs to bulk up a little.
 
We are definitely looking short at the moment but players are due back from next week.

Obviously sue, Gavet, Farah, Teddy, and Simona will walk straight into the side which will make a big difference.

Sirro and Halatau may have a run in state cup for fitness and timing but may not be far off the top side

That changes the team a lot.

On Akaoula I feel he has done a good job under tough circumstances. I see him dropping back to state cup but really pushing for a place in the top side.
 
Sirro and Tedesco are expected back for the Knights game

Tedesco was hoping for Broncos game , but he was still on one crutch about a week ago

Do we give Austin another week in the 6 jersey or put him on the bench

At times we looked like we needed someone with experience out there to settle the youthful backline down

Brooks played well but at times he got lost and frustrated which led to some bad options being taken
 
Austin will come off the bench again as a utility in the back end of the 1st half i think.

that's how i would use him anyway. Rowe, Anasta, Brooks, Farah has a far better mix of youth and experience than what we put out last night. Whats that, 550 games or so vs. 35?

Happy IMHO we need Anasta atm badly. Anasta's value to the team isn't so much about his ball playing or kicking ability i reckon we need him much more for Brook's. An experienced head next to our rookie halfback. We need him in Brook's ear throughout the game just until Brooks has gained more experience and has learned how to control the game for a full 80 min consistently. But overall considering we are a fairly young side, generally the young players are the one's who fade in and out of games till they build enough physical fitness and mental toughness. The lad's are going extremely well we will learn lot's from the roosters game this team in 2 - 3 years with the right buy's in the players market could become the next nrl dynasty.
 
Why are we jumping the gun on Austin?

He had some good touches anyway, but we can't judge him on his performance last night. He will be a completely different player when Farah returns and when we have some threat out wide. Lets not easily forget how terrible Anasta was there.

I can't believe people are back to the 'experience' excuse when he's obviously rubbished that in the last few weeks.
 
our attack last night was terrible to say the least, brooks played like benji in attack last night to much running across field just turning runners inside to get smashed, he is much better playing straight.
 
If Anasta and Farah are playing next week Rowe must be replaced at fullback with either Simona or Nofo . Lulia dropped and Austin to come in for the vacant centre or wing spot. This will provide for a very potent backline from half through to fullback With both Sue and Gavet also coming back the forward pack will also be very strong next week.

yep, let's completely rearrange our backline for a half who's trained there all off season to start playing wing, for maybe 2 or 3 games before Tedesco returns.
 
I would give Austin another run at 6 next week as having Farah back will make a massive difference to our attacking structure and ability to control the ruck.

So next week we have Farah, Simona, Sue and possibly Anasta and Gavet back. That should give us much more potency in attack.
 
If we ever get the side at full strength, there won't be a side in this comp that I fear.

Milky got it right and we will towel the Sharks with that side, smash the Broncos the week after when they're missing about 10 players and then humiliate the Knights with a full strength team. Then we'll go on to win the comp.

I got so excited reading your post that I nearly passed out with excitement! ,Woodys did so 5 back next week defiantly off to Shark park next week.

What make more unneccasary changes? Are you kidding? I don't know if you were watching the wrong game last night but we were convincingly beaten all over the park, our best player on the field was Rowe!

I was starting to doubt his ability (Just like everyone else) until last night, he made several good trying saving tackles, was running the ball back well and he must have had ants all over him because they could not tackle him. Give the bloke some credit, he is trying and having a go and last night he played well. Only make the the changes that are a must IMO.

This team is proven has won a few games on the trot V's some good teams, is the best we can field until Sironen and Tedesco come back and has the right balance of experience and young inexperienced enthusiasm.

Akauloa needs some time in state cup to develop his game, and body. Lulia is simply not first grade standard he got showed up the entire game last night. Buchannan did nothing, IMO that will be his last game of first grade this year barring injuries off course. And Paterson actually played okay last night but we can't have a 5 man bench.

Agreed. Brooks needs some work. I can see a really good player there but he needs to put it together. His kicking game and defence are I think really good but he needs to manage the game better.
