We need a decent kicker.

Correct me if i'm wrong but I think 4 out of the 5 games we have just lost have been lost by less then the conversions we have missed would have given us. I know they will never get 100% of them but Rankin and Moses have both got to be running at under 50% don't they?
If Rankin has hit either of his misses today then we never go to golden point and we win. Last week he missed 3, if even 1 goes over, we win. Time to get a kicking coach I think. :deadhorse:

Jt was a damned good kicker in his day and does the 1 on 1s with the goalkickers. I don't think lack of instruction is the issue.

We were just lucky Smith kicked 1 from 5\. Basically his boot was the reason we only lost by 1

I can't help but wonder where we could be on the ladder if we had a top notch kicker. Dare I say it, like Pat Richards In his first year back. It'd take pressure off of both attack and defence when we capitalise on the points available. It could well be the difference between top and bottom 4 for us!!

Rankin has kicked at 2/3 and 3/5, missed from the sideline for all 3 misses. He has been adequate.

Fair enough Goose, I had to listen from the radio, it's hard to get a perspective on where exactly they are kicking from at times. And I actually thought he missed two tonight. Not sure why.
I missed a pretty large chunk of the game in the middle too, only heard Smith miss one, they scored one more try than I thought. I just watched the game highlights.
Still applies for the other games though. If we had someone capable of kicking 80%+ it would make it a lot easier on our defence. Hopefully Rankin continues to improve and can fill that role.
