Weakest Position

Mac I want you to picture the 2010 semi against the Raiders and watching Lote blow Dugan out of the water to score

Lote is quick Lote is still real quick ,he just didn't get a chance to show us in 2011 Maybe a few closer to the camp could help us out

Who at the club would be quickest over 40 metres ??

Dugan isn't that fast either when wound up, his elusiveness comes more from his agility.

Look, Lote is certainly quicker than Ryan and Utai but I think he'd be outrun by the following starting wingers from this week.

Uate
Sio
Blair
Ferguson
Robinson
Duffie
Mead
Gordon
Oldfield
Merritt

Which puts him in the middle of the pack I suppose which ain't too bad. There are some others that it'd be a close race with. The likes of Sam Perrett, Stewart Mills, David Williams. The difference is Grant and Koroibete would be as fast or faster than all of them. The only ones close would be Mead, Uate and Oldfield.

Fullback will be a challenge for us this year. I know we have loads of options but it could get very scary. With Teddy, he's yet to prove himself and can his body last the year with the big boys. I hope so. Brown, safe and reliable but doesn't bark orders to his mates in defence, his attack is solid but not spectacular but he fills in well. Like wise Reddy and Humble fall into this category. Leaving Moltz out, as halfback would be weakened if he went to the back again.

Our weakest position in my opinion is backup Hooker. We have options there but I think losing Robbie at any stage of the season could be worse than losing Benji.

I think our weakest link is 5/8, we have nothing but nuffies and speed humps. I wonder how long Johnny Morris has left on his sharks contract…...................................

Weakest position at the moment is the left wing IMO. I don't believe Utai should be there ahead of Brown at the moment, and the Tigers do look weak there without Tuqiri. The two players who possess the speed and strength to take advantage of overlaps are not yet ready for FG (Koroibete and Grant). Utai simply does not have the pace to go on with it out wide, especially playing outside a noted speedster in Lawrence.

I think that Koroibete is ready, I would have him in my side every day of the week in front of Utai.

I think a lot hinges on how well Woods goes, if he can stay injury free and be consistent we will be fine. Groat worries me i don't know why, he just does.

Half back, and a good back up hooker.

I think that we have plenty of players to cover the front row :- Galloway, Groat, Woods, BMM, Blair, Ellis, Moors, Begovitch, Bell. How many do you want?

As for speedy wingers, I believe that Grant would be the fastest player in League at the moment. Kirobette would not be far behind.

After reading the team lists and looking at the squad I was just wondering what you guys think is our weakest position at the moment and what me may struggle with over the coming season??
I would also just like to say that I am so excited for this season and can't wait to scream at the top of my lungs on Sunday! Go the Tigers!!

currently our weakest position is our depth in the forwards, although in saying that i believe in coming seasons with the talent coming through this will not be our weakest position.

obviously in the past the tigers have struggled for depth in the hooking and half department but i think pat politoni will offer more quality depth and in the hooking role and in the halves chisolm miller humble sironen offer a broad selection range of fill-ins for the irreplacable benji and also for moltz

I must eat humble pie. Utai had a great game. If he continues to play like that he should be in the team every week, just wished he was taller when the bombs go up.

Still think Koroibete will become a fantastic NRL player in years to come.

Even before the weekend, my fear was the back 3\. Now Tedesco is out, I'm even more nervous. I'm sorry, Matt Utai is mistake riddled and makes Chris Lawrence nervous to the extent he doesn't commit himself to his man, incase he has to also cover Utai. At a distance Utai looked trimmer and may prove me wrong, but I can only see him as a short term fill-in.
I rwcall having this fear before the Saints Dragqueens semi final, and it not been wet I've no doubt Gasnier would have scored a hatrick matching up against Utai! Ps. Sunshine coast tiger, I could dis-agree much more with you I think the forwards are in good stead with plenty of depth. Murdoch-Masella has had a taste of 1st grade including a semi final, and he's on a 20man bench which shows our depth… TigerMc.

Ok so Beau saved the day against the Sharkz (forgot how many games he has pulled out of the bag! plenty…) but Matt Utai bettern not get the jump on a fit Lote, when the knee heels .. Rocket Reddy Junior will be flying high wby then and have the Fullback or winger position sewn up!
