Welcome to 2011 - Where U @ - How Old?

I'm a true blue Tiger. Dad took me to my first Tiger's game when I was 7 (nearly 45 years ago) at the Sydney Sports Ground. Remember going to many games at Leichhardt - my sister and I used to get 3 buses to to get there and also remember buying hot dogs from Wayne Pearce. Prior to the 2005 GF, my fondest memory was the '69 GF. I actually recall writing a poem for that GF with each line starting with the first initial of each player in the team (tragic I know).

I'm married now with 2 girls - each of them Tigers supporters and my husband is (unfortunately) a Dragons supporter. Live in central western NSW but am happy to travel 3 hours to see my beloved Tigers.

Bring on the 2011 season - the Tigers will take us to heaven in 2011!!!!

16, still at school and lives in Hamersley, Perth.
My family moved over here in the '70s, all massive Tigers fans.
All my relatives grew up in the Balmain area, for me not to go for the toigazz would be the end of me hahaha!
For some reason last year, I got really into rugby league and the Tigers, looking forward to a exciting year ahead.
I also managed to convert most of my mates to RL, living in an AFL state kind sucks ahahaha.

i live in leumeah. i have also lived in ruse, holsworthy and i lived in new york for around 6 months (aug 2001 - feb 2002)
the first game that i went to was wests first game in leumeah in 1987\. i was 6 or 7 and i loved it and i have been going ever since.
I have made 2 banners which I am sure alot of people have seen if they go to most of the games:
the "C'MON WESTS" banner which has a white background with black writing which was seen on tv and the big screens last year a few times in the semi-final against dragons and it will be seen alot more from now on!
and the very big "WESTS TIGERS SHINING BRIGHT FEEL THE POWER FEEL THE MIGHT" banner which has an orange background with black writing.
im not religious. i guess you could say im spiritual.

I'll send you a simpathy card…. Stay away from our Statue!!!

Joe - Grafton - 24 - 1 daughter - In a relationship - Tigers fan since before I have memory. I think it began when watching the 89 final for some reason.

Callin' Baton Rouge, yeeha, Bon if you don't have any passion for the Tigers 2011 season then it's time to come home

Great thread guys, love hearing some of the ole memory lane stories.

Names Dean. Grew up in Mittagong, now live in Marulan ( it's the small town on the hume with heavy vehicle weigh bridge).
38 years old (who am I kidding) and married with two sprogs, both girls and both love the tiges.
Currently self employed running a garden maintenance business after spending the first half of my working life as a fun stopper.
Followed Balmain since birth and the first memory of the footy is reading the team line ups in RLW and then listening to the Balmain boys on the radio with the old man. It's all the Wests Tigers now. Have a membership for the campbelltown games. :sign:

Was only last year was at a Tigers game with Suzie q at LO, sitting in front of the hill, and none other than SimontheTiger a couple seat behind us had the whole section in stitches - what a card.
(Was the melb game so plenty of ammo thrown at storm players)

Im in my 40;s, wrong side to be frank....grew up opposite Wests Leagues Ashfield, went to school next to Wests leagues, played footy at school in old first grade jerseys supplied by Wests Leagues....was a Wests Jnr. not hard to guess what side Im from.
Now live and dodging bullets at Guildford & am a waste management officer

Got a decent roof over our heads, great woman, nice kids, hot car, fair job and no money...what more could a bloke ask for?

That game with Simon's commentary was the best! I was only speaking to him about it tonight as we left the SFS. And it sounds like you don't have much more to ask for at all

I grew up in the lower mountains and used to follow the Panthers. With superleague went my passion for the game and I didn't even watch a match for about 3 or 4 years.

2002 I started to follow WT. Have since found out that my Grandad and Pop both followed the Maggies, as did mum & dad when they were young, and I am distantly related to Keith Holman. My Dad's family lived at Ashfield, and Mum's are from Leichhardt, so I guess it was just fate that I would end up following WT!

I've been on the forums since 2002 or 2003\. I am married, 43, have 2 adult children, and a 10 yr old. Hubby sadly is a Panthers fan, #1 son has no interest in footy (I think they switched him at the hospital) and daughter and #2 son are both feral tigers fans. I am a primary school teacher, having gone to uni and finishing in 2005, and love teaching kids in Mt Druitt - I have converted a few of them over to WT as well

Really looking forward to season 2011! GO TIGERS!!! :sign:

I will have another crack at this.

I moved to Australia in '05, no guesses as to why I go for Tigers, my cousin was a hardout Broncos fan, and we watched the Tigers vs Broncos semi together and just because he supported Broncos, I started supporting Tigers just to tick him off. (I was really young, so I guess that's why I liked it) And when they eventually won the comp, I could only think of Tigers.

Lost interest in footy after that year, but got interested in footy early in 2009.

Not going to any games this year as I have my HSC, but will watch every game from my couch. I actually hope this season build upto a superb next year.

I have lived up on the sunny Central Coast for the past 12 years, but was born and bred in Sydney's inner-west suburbs of Strathfield/Burwood. Started following Wests, as a tot, during the mid 1960s :astonished: – hence, I am ancient! lol. I have fond memories of Lidcombe Oval during the 1970s, sitting with my family and all the Wests Supporters Club members, who included the Raudonikis family (Tom’s parents and siblings) – always made for an interesting afternoon let me tell ya!

I have followed Wests Tigers since the merger began. This felt a little weird at first, as I was a true blue Magpie from a young age, but it didn’t take long for my heart to start racing, just as it always did, whenever ‘my team’ took to the field.

Started, regularly, checking out this forum a couple of years ago and finally plucked up the courage to join in October last year. I work in aged care.

17, turning 18 in april, possibly the youngest person to regularly use the forum? maybe? live in Berowra, which is on the upper north shore 15 minutes north of hornsby. finished hsc last year and got accepted into the main round of uni offers. moving to canberra next year to start my bachelor of sport coaching and exercise/bachelor of exercise and sport science - 4 years. currently looking for employment for petrol and to actually live the next 12 months of my life before i move to the middle of nowhere. been supporting the tigers since….2003 i think due to dad supporting them since he can remember. greatest tiger related memories: 2005 grand final at liechhardt oval when the big screen blacked out for about 30 seconds and everyone went nuts

I remember that happening to the big screen lol. And i also remember the crowd going ape shit. Still better screen than the current port-a-screen though

You made a particularly obtuse call regarding Daniela to hooker CC (in a separate thread) - but any fan of 'Jimmy' Jack is a mate of mine!!!

Welcome to the forum sir!!
