Cool. Any news if Davis, Fafita and Pritchard will be heading up north today?

not that i know of mate, fafita had a blinder, in a scrappy game, pritchard starved of the ball on the wing, davis played strong and scored a cracker in the final minutes.
Good to see Royce Simmons there watching on..

Sounds like Fafita could well push for a spot on the bench in FG if he keeps his form up.

So wait, Fifita kicked two goals?

Yes mate…he is quite an acomplished goal kicker...Kick off's are great too...saw him hit a few in NYC last year...

Got lots of practice in his junior days when whoever scored ....kicked!

That's pretty rockin'

I wasn't sent the final scores, but the updates that were texted to me was that Laz got 3 tries. Also tries to Lane, Leeroy, Nicholls and Meaney.

BRET belted Penrith Brothers.

Flanagan was great but rolled his ankle, Eloni copped a rough knock and at worst may have broken his nose, Toby Marshall did a ligament by first assessment. The team went in with only 17 men and after 10 minutes into the 3rd quarter were down to a one man bench.

Arana did not play as he rolled an ankle at training and Sammmy H injured a hamstring in training also.

All in all it was a good last hit out. They did as expected against the opposition and it gave time to test plays and really let Nicholls settle into a role within the team.

brets ended up runnin away with the games , couldnt keep up with the scores , good hit out 4 balmain b4 the start of the season , injury 2 toby marshall n mark flanagan not sure how serious they were also eloni has a broken nose, yeh laz scored 3 tries n lane n nicholls also stood out but i was really impressed with the whole team

Smeg…... did Nicholls play 5/8th?

He did indeed.

Carr really runs the show from hooker though.

Why we have anyone in the squad as a backup hooker in front of Carr is entirely beyond me

No surprises Lazarus once again outclassed the opposition last night. On top of his 3 tries, he also set plenty up too. Very very smart footballer indeed.

Carr has a very good onfield presence. A no nonsense type of player. When he first started playing for BRET, i thought he was very good. But now he is even BETTER!!

He has a very fine defensive technique too. Whoever coached him in junior league certainly gave him the correct tools to compensate for his smaller stature

So…. if we have Carr and Lazarus driving BRET .....Doing it with style by the sounds....why does Sheens bother with Fitzhenry....

Well that is a little beyond me.

Fitzy, much like Ryan for mine would be guys to have in an extended squad to cover injuries throughout a season etc but not considered for a top 17 spot until necassary.

Fitzhenry could provide a real guidance to younger players in State Cup IMO, much in the way Skando did for the Magpies at the start of last season
