If anyone here can name one good thing News Ltd. has done for our game I will pay you bills for a year.

Having fox sports have a number of live games over the weekend and monday night plus shows like NRL on fox and NRL tactics,replays of all games during the week,chooseday night football replaying games from the past.I couldnt live here in Adelaide without fox, helps me keep in touch with our great game.

The broadcasting would be better if the Rugby league could sell it for what it is worth !!! the buyers are the half owners !! what a joke !!

It seems pretty clear to me.....News Litd own half on Fox....half own the game of Rugby League as it stands.....Why would they make themselves charge half of themselves what Rugby League is actually worth as far as broadcasting goes? 😕

I am no Manly supporter, in fact they are one of my worst teams in the comp.

But Western Suburbs were happy to buy Gillespie, Langmack and Farrar from the Dogs - is that double standards?

wests in late 70's were not in position to hold onto alot of players financially. I was aged 13 then and could not understand why they would go and play for arch enemies manly. manly had the money, and offered Boyd Brown & Dorahy a good deal. so it was straight out business. ( plus very peed off how a crap ruling in the final against wests, where O'Grady did a chip over top regained and scored yet he was ruled offside, by Hartley, which would have won the game for wests, manly got into grand final, played Cronula and won the comp.)
then when it was wests turn to be cashed up did not seem so bad to do it , to bulldogs, as they had re-secured services of Terry Lamb.

Theres no doubt Manly tried to destroy Wests in the late 70s.

Manly should have their 78 premiership stripped .
As for players we bought from the dogs in 91,we still have unfinished business with them.
In 83 Canterbury were one of the clubs that voted to have us kicked out and went on to buy from Wests Lamb,Conlon,Leis,Battese.Those players along with the ones the bought from Newtown helped them to win in 84/85.

How did Melbourne Storm make the NRL criteria in the first place?

A club that constantly made a loss.
Had terrible crowd figures
terrible stadium
no juniors

I loved the Balmain Tigers, just as much as I now love the Wests Tigers. Wests Tigers is stronger than Balmain could ever have hoped to be in 1999.
