Wests Tigers have today revealed the Club's 2017 Indigenous Jersey.

Designed by Wests Tigers Member and Indigenous Artist Dennis Golding, the jersey will be worn in the Club's Round 10 clash against the South Sydney Rabbitohs at ANZ Stadium.

The design used in the jersey is from an original artwork that highlights unity, strength and presence. The artwork represents the traditional lands in which the club was based from the western and inner-western suburbs of Sydney.

Along the paths that form across the lands of the Tharawal and Gadigal language groups, there are continuous circles (like a ripple effect) that represent the club players’ movements in which they unite as one to expand their knowledge, strengthen their skills, and develop a greater sense of culture and identity.

Looks pretty good.
Surely the person writing the spiel in that article would of been laughing to themselves while writing it. What a load!

I thought the "continuous circles" represented the direction our club has been headed in for the last 6 or 7 years. Either that or Fitzy's legendary circlework back in the day

Really? I quite enjoy the stories behind the indigenous jerseys. I know it's not wholly applicable to modern day footy players but the meaning is still legitimate overall.

I like it better than last years and that was good…

We are undefeated in the Indigenous Jersey...Look out Souff's...

My wallet audibly sighed when I first saw these jerseys. Definite buy for me, I think they look amazing. As for the meaning in the write-up, I'm not Indigenous so I can't even pretend to understand the significance, if that's what the artist says it means then that's good enough for me.

Pretty sure we were wearing indigenous jersey vs bulldogs last year and we lost. We are undefeated in this years indigenous jersey though! For now.

No, not the historical meaning…I'm not indigenous so it is just hokum to me TBH. But the WT side of things, the meanity of unity, strength, togetherness yada yada....that bit of the story is funny.

I'm guessing that's the artist's interpretation and not some honky girl in admin.

I look the look of it, but I'd feel a bit funny wearing it, TBH.

I like it , even the brydens logo blends in .

Yeah last years Jersey the "Brynen's" didn't blend in and it spoiled the look of the Jersey.

The 2016 jersey is my favourite WT strip. I love the meaning behind the two tribes coming together and wearing it reminds me of the sacrifices made by Wests and Balmain so that we still have a club to cheer for.

Despite our squibbles and arguments at the end of the day we are unified in that we want to see our club do well.

It looks relly good.

We will always struggle to find an orange marvel character but once it comes to the indigenous round we are right up there as the best jerseys in the NRL

'The Thing' (Ben Grimm) from The Fantastic 4 would have been perfect instead of a rodent… could even stretch to The Human Torch too.
