Wests Tigers board back Taylor ..

Wouldnt be the first coach to get the sack after supposedly having the "full backing of the board". He just needs to keep winning and then the focus will go toward the coaches of the losing sides.

It's been the kiss of death most times, sort of like a big hug from the Mafia. Lol

Steve I will tell you for the last time…you keep saying in your threads JT STUFFED up last year, however you give him no credit for TEACHING the youngsters about NRL STRUCTURES..you can hide behind the "" I want JT to succeed"" scenario, but I have seen to many people like you cover your true meaning ,which to me is that you don't like JT and only for the people on this forum being so staunch about us not sacking another coach in such a short period of time, you would be doing cartwheels if he was to get sacked.....
Our first win of this season was due to the great attacking players we have,no one ever doubted their attacking ability and that includes JT,however he knew that they could not defend and that is why he placed those game plans last year, and if you think attack only will win us games, think again, the team almost got beaten by the Warriors last week because they fail to stick to a solid defensive structure...they need to practice them a hell of a lot more... ?

:roll You have very little idea TT.
EVERYONE from Teddy, Moses and Woods through to Fitler, Johns and Gould have publically said JT got it wrong last year. Why is it that you a nuffie on a forum, know more about it than they, legends of the sport and current squad players, do?

He has evolved from his original strategies and the team's performances have improved as a result. I give him props for that and as I said back in January (along with the so called JT haters) he has a clean slate this year. He is 1 from 1 and doing well.

It would be nice to have some stability and JT gets the results to be a long term coach. The catch with the statement that he has the full support of the board is the board may look very different after 31st March.

Striker, you have the hide to call someone a nuffie, you are truly a tosser,I don't care what the young ones said, they ALL had to learn defense ….call me whatever you like,I have yet to see your credentials to coach an NRl side.. Sorry I forgot you are a keyboard warrior who is always trying to belittle someone at your first opportunity..

Agree Telltails. Keep on winning and everything will be Hunky-dory!

I don't get the comments towards me. I don't want to hear about Taylor Ball ever again. Go and re-read the comments above. It's the same stuff (there are a bunch of better words) that you guys keep bringing up.

Maybe I shouldn't respond but it gets tiresome reading the delusional rantings on last year's performances over and over again.

Taylor went too far implementing his so called "STRUCTURES" last season IMO
Things have hopefully turned around for the better this season !

Lol what an ironic post.

I propose we call a truce on jt until at least after Easter. Let's give him at least 4 games before we start a grand jury into whether he is guilty or not. That's just 3 weeks.

Facts are nobody has the evidence to conclusively say whether he has done a good job or not. We are rehashing the same arguments are coming up with the same answers….it has gone way past boring.

I agree it's way past boring however if people just stuck to the facts it would be a lot lot lot easier to handle.

Like I said - if you used facts it would be a lot easier to discuss. The problem is that you don't.

Brooks basically said the same thing as well. On top of that the ladder shows where we came.

Let's hope that we win and the Taylor supporters can start supporting the team rather than Taylor.

People can defend Taylor till the cows come home but the fact is he will not survive if he achieves the same results as last year - which were not good enough regardless of the structures he was trying to implement - we didnt win enough games. Its not personal - any coach with those same results would have to turn it around.

No one is disagreeing with you. Last year wasn't good enough….the debate is whether Taylor as a first year coach should wear all the blame......let's move on and judge him on this year.

Fair call, I don't rate Taylor as a coach.
But prepared to give him a go this year!
The only thing is if you wait until the end of the year all the decent coaches will be snapped up!
So we shouldn't…

Actually Larry I think that if you do critique Taylors performance last year that you find yourself being accused of having it in for Taylor. He will be judged on this years performance, just as he was judged on last years. Just hope it is a different result.

Telltails,I completely understand what you are saying,I'm not defending JT the man or coach for that matter,I'm defending what he was trying to do in regards to putting defensive structures in place for the younger ones to understand what NRL is all about…

I was very supportive of Mick Potter when he was the coach but he was working under adverse conditions at that time of his employment,so we didn't get to see if he was a good coach or not for our club...you are absolutely right that JT must get results this year and we will see if the young players did learn from last year....JT did learn that you can't harness the brilliant attack our team does have in away that you get beaten every week, its a waste of talent so hopefully he has learnt to apply both attack and defense that will suit the team..as for the team telling the coach how they want to play....why employ a coach, just let them run the games themselves and we can save a salary at the same time...

It a perfect situation the club wouldn't have needed to say anything. However after a disastrous season last year the club must have felt it needed to announce that they are happy with the way things have been going in 2016\. Another win tonight will help keep the vultures in the media away and let's us concentrate on football.

Was saying this the entire off season, but some had made their minds up that he'd be gone by round 6\. Hell, some were saying he'd be gone before round 1\. Give them credit, they do look like close knit team and they are one from one. If we're going to dwell so much on last yr, why don't we spend as much time dwelling on the other 10+ yrs we failed to make the finals as well.
