Very surprising that Lui is only a train-and trialist.

Yes, it is. Perhaps just a typo. He was one of the star signings from last season, and had performed very well last year in pre-season and round one. Why would we have one of the stars from last year trialling for a position - we surely know what he's capable of, and i'd be fairly sure we would have signed him to a deal longer than one year.

I also recall us signing 3 of the Fuatimau boys, yet only one has been listed in a squad to date

Some names I recognise, enough to know there's plenty of talent, size and speed in this squad.

Compton Fuatimau has been listed as a centre in Wests SG Ball side for this week. Guessing that he might have been injured for the first couple of games.

interesting that a couple of the boys like O'Kane, Kautoga and Tumeth were running around with firsts during the first few months of preseason but aren't even a part of the 20s squad? I know they're young but just seems a bit interesting.

Perhaps because of he age movement - wth this now a 21 squad and Ball up to 19s squad they may start in ball

They've all been playing SG ball, if they impress maybe they'll play Flegg

Mavoni Tuifua is a great prospect. Absolute monster in the making.

Saw him in the Flegg Trial and he looked like Seumanufagai. Looked quite unfit and with little impact

Yep. I think it's fair to give the boys from last year first dibs in Flegg. They didn't get their charge to impress last year, and are older and more physically prepared to potentially step up to NSW cup.

These youngsters will play minutes in Ball and then move up where the opportunities arise.

Agreed - I’m hearing from club officials there could be a few diamonds in the rough based on training stats since Nov 1.

Training v game can be two different things but after COVID 19 it’s hard to tell what will transpire. Some of these kids missed 12 months of experience but have come back hard and hungry - never underestimate this fact - other clubs are seeing similar things with their roster.

Whatever happens well done to Chops for bringing through their skills thus far - a key component to future WT’s success. He’s a tough taskmaster and what we need imo and complements Madge’s coaching style - a good thing.

We live in hope!

No. At least not direct family. It's a common name in Samoa.
