Wests Tigers confirm Jason Taylor as new coach

Good luck to him if true, he has a good footy head, and has some good raps

Lets hope he - or whoever it is - gets a real fair go unlike the last bloke, eh Robbie?

Taylor will be an excellent mentor for Brooks and Mosses….he was a very smart halfback in his day.!

If the players and supporters don't completely back this fellow as Head Coach we are cutting our own throats. I hope everyone has learnt from the mistakes of the past year. The only way to go is up and onwards.

Its the managment that need to back him. If halfway through next year some players are moaning to mayer or the board about him they should be shown the door. They soon back him if they know he's the boss.

How has this info even got into the media. Jerry Seinfeld here would have us all believe that Emperor Mayer has "fixed" the issue of leaks from the boardroom.

Thats the biggest worry in all of this news…the leak is still there.sheez!!..obviously it wasn't Potter!

Could have been from Taylors current side. I'm sure he would have informed them.

I think track records speak volumes in this instance.

This is not a leak. The announcement is being made as I type. Can we please forget about stupid "leak" arguments for the time being and celebrate the fact that we have a new coach who could be anything.

Rubbish. Makes Potters communication skills seem fantastic. Is this a Wests selection to send the team broke to buy it for a dollar.
Absolutely ridiculous to choose him above any of the other candidates.

You are completely wrong. This fellow has a lot of passion and coaching skill. Anyway the board made the decision and nobody else has control over it. Accept it and move on.

3 years according to Foxsports. Much more preferable than 2 IMO.

how do they justify 3 years?

Stability? Long term plan?
6 months into Potters 2 year term and the rumours started he was on the way out. This MAY avoid that situation happening again

Well if they have unveiled the "new" coach that means they must have already selected the General Manager of football as the latter was supposed to be announced first :crazy

Brian Canavan would be nicer.

Well im not going to throw my toys out of the pram and go on like some of you. It's a new coach. In a new team. With players who have never been coached by him. New board. New circumstances. No one can really make any solid judgment on the next chapter of the Tigers, no matter who the coach is. Time will tell and that's all we can do is watch and see. And show some positivity people. The club certainly needs it!
