Wests Tigers Could play a hybrid game against Randwick

In the mole scoops in this weeks RLW, there is a story that the Wests Tigers could play a hybrid game against Randick rugby union at the end of the season after the grand final at Allianz Stadium on the Friday night. They had a meeting last week and are working out the final details.beach player would get paid $5K which would get donated to the starlight foundation.

What does everyone think of this game. It would be interesting to see league and union teams playing against each other.

I like the Charity element especially Starlight, I have had some exposure here.

On the other hand I think this is a bad chess move, Big picture

Randwick as indeed Club rugby is dying and as they are an enemy code I am happy to not give this inferior competition and code a boost by insinuating that they are anywhere near equal as to the Wests Tigers or any NRL club.

I Reject Parity assumption
I Reject Injury risk
I wouldn't attend

The Starlight foundation is a remarkable foundation that gives sick kids an opportunity to enjoy life for a change.

If the players were to donate their money to this charity I would fully support the game going ahead. For starters it is out of season, and it's a mickey mouse game.

Id be happy for them the play it for charity.
Union does need league and league doesn't need Union. I don't see anything coming out of this other than money for a great organisation. The Starlight foundation help my daughter out in her month of need. I'm more than happy to support them. The Tigers would destroy Randwick . Would be worth watching for a laugh.

Kiwis generally grow up playing both codes. We only have a couple of Kiwis in the WTs 1grade now. Last year we had heaps. I'd like to see KG and Woods in a lineout. I think our scrum would crumble but our backs would run rings around some short fat Union props. Good Off season entertainment

I'd rather we played in an end of season knockout competition with the other top 8 sides in the premiership. I'd definately turn up to watch that.

Hybrid game just doesnt work.
Anything that includes rucks and mauls would mean that the league players would never see the ball.
If there is no rucks and mauls the league guys will be to athletic.

It has been attempted, just doesnt work, the games have a lot of similarities but are very different.

I'd hate to see our players getting injured in a Mickey Mouse affair and my idea of a hybrid game is the Tigers scoring tries and Randwick going for penalty shots non stop

I don't think a rugby union team has ever won one of these games

They usually get thrashed

I'd be worried about injuries as well

Lets see them do a massive relay walk for charity and raise money that way

I would go and watch the game. The Starlight is truly a great cause to support anytime. It receives no government funding. ( Isn't that sad ) Relies solely on donations from supporters.
It brightens the lives of seriously sick children, teenagers and their families.
Like CB and Tigerdon mentioned above, this foundation is remarkable and i urge everyone to support it. It really does make a difference for the better

It's a bit of fun at the end of the year. Won't impede on the season.

Yeah, screw the Starlight foundation.

Depends on the rules, I played in one and we (rugby team) won about 60 nil, there were rucks and scrums but no mauls.

Bath beat wigan pretty comfortably in a game pretty close to rugby, than Wigan flogged Bath in a game closer to league.

The hybrid games dont work.

As you say do something else for charity.

Do something to raise money for Starlight - YES!!!!

A game against any Rugby side is not on.

We broke away in 1908 - never to return.

Against a club side would be a non event anyway.
