WOUNDED Wests Tigers fullback Tim Moltzen remains in doubt for Friday night's showdown with Brisbane as he recovers from Sunday's bruising loss to the Rabbitohs.
South Sydney enforcer Michael Crocker was yesterday at the centre of another match review committee controversy after he was hit with a grade one dangerous contact charge for his tackle that caught Moltzen flush on the jaw with a forearm.
Crocker will escape suspension if he enters an early guilty plea today and be free to take on the Bulldogs this Friday.
Wests Tigers coach Tim Sheens said he didn't want to make any comment about the tackle yesterday, while club chief executive Stephen Humphreys admitted last night Moltzen was in doubt for this week's game.
"He is still getting over the effects of that hit and also another one he sustained later, so he's recovering and we're not sure if he'll be available this week or not," Humphreys said.

"We will wait for the doctor's assessment, which we will get overnight. But he is in some doubt."
NRL fans were yesterday divided over the tackle.
Some labelled it nothing more than unavoidable contact as Moltzen came down low after taking the bomb, while others felt Crocker deserved to be suspended.
Tigers legend Garry Jack said he felt sorry for Moltzen but didn't think the tackle warranted a suspension.
Speaking with plenty of experience, the fullback great said: "I just think it's unfortunate and (Moltzen) was just unlucky. I think what saved Crocker was that (Moltzen) caught it as he was coming to the ground. There is no doubt he hit him with the elbow flush on his chin but it was just unfortunate."(Moltzen) did take it standing flat-footed and that is the most vulnerable position to be in.
"You always try to get a bit of a run-up with your knee forward to protect yourself. At least then Crocker is going to run into that first.
"You can't hit people in the head and that's what he did but if (Moltzen) was standing up when he hit him he probably hits him around the neck."
Melbourne's Anthony Quinn was charged for two separate tackles on Newcastle's Junior Sa'u and will miss one week if he enters early pleas for both charges.
The Titans' Bodene Thompson will escape suspension if he pleads guilty to a grade one dangerous contact charge against the Bulldogs' Frank Pritchard.
