Wests Tigers chief executive Grant Mayer has taken the extraordinary step of phoning the NRL’s head of football, Todd Greenberg, after a game to complain about a rival player, Newcastle prop David Fa’alogo. Mayer believes Fa’alogo attacked the head of Tigers second-rower Liam Fulton, who has a history of concussion.
‘‘It’s this guy’s fourth concussion this year and obviously it’s a concern for the club,’’ Mayer said on Sunday. ‘‘We’ve looked at the tape and we believe there is something for the NRL to look at. We’ve said all year we take this sort of thing very seriously. We’d like to think the NRL will have a look tomorrow and the appropriate action is taken.’’ Still at Hunter Stadium, Wests Tigers winger Pat Richards said of his amazing deadlock-breaking field goal from near the sideline: ‘‘I actually didn’t strike it very well … I shanked it.’’

It seems even Wests Tigers have missed Gids kneeing Rowdy in the back…might as well mention that while youre at it Grant.

Probably a better way of doing this than having Potter bring it up at the press conference, I believe funds are tight right now at WTs

I'd have preferred if this didnt reach the media, glad theyre being pro active about it somewhat.

It was quite a thuggish performance fron Newcastle yesterday.

Surprising because they actually have a decent squad through 1-17\. They should have won more than 2 games this year.

Play football Wayne.

Mullen's long kicking game was excellent yesterday.

That was quite nasty and totally uncalled for. It's not as if Liam likes to give any stick. He's one of the cleaner players in the game. I hope the perpetrator gets a few weeks for that one.

would not be surprised if the ref's are told to keep any eye on Liam during the remainder of this seasons games.

can see a time coming, during the games this season, after being involved in a heavy tackle, when the ref's are going to ask him if he is alright, and if they are concerned they will signal to the bench.

i know it may sound a bit over the top, but stranger things have happened.

Your right ink fa'alogo has avoided a charge by the NRL match committee for his hit on Fulton .

punched anasta when he was on the floor as well

feel sorry for anasta at times. he's a safe player who seems to try hard and produces good play when necessary. he cops soo much crap from everyone calling him overrated.

Snowden looking at two charges for two weeks
Kasiano got a gold star and a happy meal award
No mention of Tapau

The NRL must be the worst organised and managed professional competition in the world.

Even the corrupt ipl is managed better.

Newcastle forward David Fa'alogo has avoided a charge by the NRL match review committee despite Wests Tigers lodging an extraordinary complaint against him.

The Tigers were incensed with a hit Fa'alogo put on their forward Liam Fulton, who has been concussed on numerous occasions this year.

Wests Tigers chief executive Grant Mayer took the unusual step of phoning NRL head of football Todd Greenberg to complain, believing Fa'alogo had attacked Fulton's head.

"We'd like to think the NRL will have a look tomorrow and the appropriate action is taken," Mayer told Fairfax Media.

The NRL said its independent match review committee examined the footage involving Fa'alogo but deemed he had no case to answer.

However, fellow Newcastle forward Kade Snowden is facing two weeks on the sidelines after receiving two separate careless high tackle charges.

Snowden copped a grade two charge for a hit on Curtis Sironen, and then in the final 10 minutes of the match was handed a grade one for striking Boden Thompson around the mouth.

The Knights prop was last year banned for seven matches for a shoulder charge which broke the jaw of North Queensland utility Ray Thompson.
