Should any Tigers represent in SOO 2019? I feel someone should just so we have a representative.

No one sadly. Pearce will be Cleary's understudy which means Brooks will be further down the pecking order.

The closest are probably Brooks, Mbye (as a utility) and Matterson (as a bench forward) and I don't think any of them are particularly close.

I look at things differently. I'd rather no-one plays origin so all players are at training and are 100% fit and ready to go against whoever we play.

I know what you mean. We still need at least someone to get into the train-on squad. We haven't had many reps recently, we've only had Woods and Farah but now there are better players in those positions. Brooks went close this year but it's hard to go past Cleary & Maloney. Cleary & Brooks would be sic but Maloney & Cleary play together on a weekly basis so the chem is a lot better between them

No one from our Tigers….

PS - MBYE is a QLDer if I recall correctly

yes he is but we will still have someone representing. Plus, we have a cover for most positions.

I reckon Brooksy should represent NSW next year. Not so sure about Mbye, Queensland already have a few fullbacks to choose from.

No, but for selfish reasons. I doubt any of the team would anyway but I am glad that’s the case. Other teams can knock themselves out during SOO and leave us alone.

Unfortunately no one is a chance. My closest bet would be faf if cook was injured, and Fittler had a heart attack and ricky became coach again..,

Can’t see it happening.

Matterson in our side and with more game time than roosters, might just be a bolter. As for the rest, only hope is for quite a few injuries.

It’s ridiculous really. I don’t know how many chances the selectors will give Pearce before it finally dawns on them that he just can’t cut it at Origin level. He does wonders at club level, but has looked completely lost on the field in Origin time and time again.

Brooks should be Cleary’s ‘understudy’ not Pearce. In all honesty, Chad Townsend would even be a better option than having Pearce in the side again.

The fact that we have no representative in the extended Origin squad will mean that we have no chance of having anyone chosen for NSW.

There are already way too many really good back rowers in the comp for Matterson to even be considered, imo. They couldn’t even fit a seasoned rep forward like Jackson in last year.

MBye might be a smokey for 18th man for Qld especially now Slater has retired, but I reckon that will be it.

Whilst it would be nice to see a couple of our guys get a reward for their efforts, I’m more than happy having no rep in either team - it’s better for us having no disruptions to our team all season, barring injury of course.

Mitch Pearce has been judged harshly imo. I have no doubt that if he was the 7 in origin this year, NSW would still have one. Cleary Jnr did bugger all.
Pearce suffered from not having quality players around him and always up against the Storms big 3 and JT.

No Tigers in Origin next year.

Pearce is a very good NRL player but has failed to 'make it' in the SOO arena. Terry Lamb was another who was an outstanding first grader (albeit one I hated), but couldn't step up to the next level.
Pearce has had enough chances already.

imo cleary hardly touched the ball in all 3 origin games

I'm not specifically a Pearce critic but he did win only 5 of 18 Origin appearances (28%).

Gallen is another stalwart but he has 9/24 wins (38%). Cordner is 4/12 (33%).

I don't think I can find another contemporary with a worse NSW win record (above a decent number of matches) than Pearce. And as a halfback, that's an especially big deal, because he's steering the ship in those matches.

So again not his biggest critic but his Origin record is appalling.

I dunno, Pearce has always had a champion spine against himwhen he’s been there before, he showed heaps for the knights last season (that spine has certainly changed now)and could be the back up for NT and could be a success
If theres any injuries in either half or No 6,
