He'll be another Reynolds, minus the heart. Do not do this. it will bite us.

Would you take him if they picked up a lot of the freight, so we were only paying around $400k? I get that he's not worth full freight, but worth the risk at $400k? I'm thinking he would be at that price.

Idk, maybe. If the post above is any indication, the Sharks don't seem keen on throwing to much in, and I can't really blame them. We have a similar issue with Reynolds. Doubt we'd be offering to foot much of his salary to other clubs. And its not like an LM situation where no one cares how much the Roosters would throw in. Players like Moylan and grub, there'd be lots of toing and froing between both clubs, about who can be the biggest scrooge, cos neither player is worth it.

I'm ok with bringing him over but I wouldn't pay more than that. If Cronulla aren't chipping much in he can stay there.

I'd happily do a straight swap with Reynolds but I doubt that would happen either.

I'd only take Moylan if we can get one of the not wanted off our books too. Not necessarily to Sharks but gone somewhere else- and we too would have to stump up some of our unwanted salary as would the Sharks for Moylan.

If Maguire has seen fullback as a problem we have to do something- probably cant promote from within as I havent seen any great clamour for Dylan Smith. If Thompson has just been fill in happy for him to go back to wing.

Agree, can't see a swap with JR happening. SJ on massive coin. Townsend reupped. Cam King signed as a backup hooker. No room there for JR.

We would be helping Cronulla if we take Moylan,Xerri wants more money because Ramien is getting more then him.

Why should we help the Sharks keep Xerri.
They can keep Moylan and we’ll take Bronson of their hands.

If we get him relatively cheap, and if we can release one of our existing salary cap eaters, then I don't get all the hate about signing Moylan.

The bloke does have talent. He's had a bad couple of years, but then Benji had some shocking years in the wilderness.

Someone, I forget who, pointed out he hasn't many games injured as this forum seems to think.

Of course he's not Mitchell, but we wouldn't be signing him at Mitchell wages.

Corey Thompson as we all know has a heart that we wish all our players had. But he's better on the wing than at fullback. For me CT on the wing and MM at fullback is an upgrade on what we had this year.

I watched one of the Sharks games this year and Moylan was the best player on either side. He still is a very good player but has not had many great games this year.

Matt Moylan won’t be joining the Wests Tigers after two proposed meetings with the Cronulla star failed to eventuate.

Under contract with Cronulla for 2020 and 2021, Moylan was recently approached by the Tigers, who felt that given Cronulla’s salary cap pressure, they could secure a cut-price fullback/five-eighth option.

Needing to release pressure on their salary cap, the Sharks were willing to allow Moylan the opportunity to meet with the Tigers, if it meant the 28-year-old could potentially secure a deal beyond his current contract.

Similarly, the Sharks know that at his best, Moylan can be an integral member of their backline in 2020.

However, on each occasion that the Tigers indicated an interest to meet Moylan, the discussion was cancelled — presumably as the Tigers prioritised the signing of Latrell Mitchell over the former NSW Origin player.

There remains a sense within the Tigers that Mitchell could still sign with the Sydney club.

Suggestions of the Tigers interest in Moylan have been bubbling for the past month and was spiked again by Tigers captain Moses Mbye on Wednesday.

Mbye said he wanted the Tigers to sign both Mitchell and Moylan — a recruitment drive that will now no longer eventuate.

Obviously they’re both really quality players, there’s no doubting that,” Mbye said.

“If they're available and we can get them, I don’t see why you wouldn’t. If I was running the team I’d be doing the same thing.”

However, any hope of the Tigers signing Moylan is now dead in the water.

The Sharks playmaker has told both his teammates and his management that he has no interest in joining the Tigers and he's committed to remaining in the Shire.

On the comeback trail from a hamstring injury that plagued his disappointing 2019 season, Moylan is back at Sharks training acutely aware of how critical his pre-season build-up is for next year.

The Sharks have also eased significant pressure on their salary cap by the departure to the English Super League of Matt Prior.

Hope you are right David Riccio - Need the 'Princess' like a hole in the head.

Dave's a Sharks man. Pretty close to the money with all things Sharks. And not a hack of journalist like some at his newspaper.
