Wests Tigers keen to take Matt Moylan off Cronulla’s books

I can’t imagine a lazy bugger like Moylan playing under someone like Madge. Geez if Matterson is complaining after one season Moylan will probably pack it in after a month!

@Elderslie_Tiger I think he would be a fine number 9.

He slotted in a couple of times during the trials I think it was and he looked decent. He can pass and he can defend, willing to put his body on the line. Has speed and can manoeuvre well in and around the play of the ball.

28....

Wow... I reconsider my positivity for this deal.

This smacks of payday and a financial burden ala the current crop.of misfits on our books.

If Moylan was 24ish I would be all in.

And i would call because you would need runner runner runner to collect. He offers bugger all and would want decent money

Why are we going for Moylan? He won't improve our team at all. If he comes here then I have to question Madges recruitment. I know it's tough to get players to come here but this is just more of the same, average players coming here for a payday.

If we can't sign anyone good then save the money!

You really have to question the recruitment of the club if Moylan is/was in our plans. Sharks cannot register Ramien until they off load players. Why help them by picking up one of their duds?

I can tell you for a fact the Sharks will be cheering if we take Moylan. They don’t want him at the club for the same reasons most on here feel about recruiting him. Overpaid, not coachable, injury prone. Tigers need to walk away.

To an extent I see what your saying but co.es down to the coach - I mean Tren Barrett though all the Manly players were uncoachable too. Moylan has played lots of quality footy and his injury record isnt as bad as made out when you look at how many games he has played plus all thats taken into account when you value him. As a half while he is 28 he is hitting his peak and could play for 5+ more seasons at a time when he is likely to be more mature - perfect age to sign halves for mine.

@Snake To be fair to him I can recall many of us being pleased with the Jennings purchase. Top try scorer for that season (regardless of how little effort each try of his required) and he secured a wing spot for one of the form teams of the competition. His plodding was well hidden I'm afraid.

Said this in the past - and it's often forgotten. Majority of people were raving about it, and telling those who said he does nothing for his trys to sit down.

Because that’s what we do. I’m pretty sure it’s the only reason we exist in the NRL these days.

Haha... yup, you'd think getting Ramien is a more 'favourable outcome'.

If they're sufficiently desperate to get rid of him that they're willing to pay most of his wages we'd be crazy not to have a look. Yet again: unless you know the financials, you can't say for sure either way who's getting value and who's getting ripped off.

Another big mistake.

This is more of the bad culture as we constantly over pay to relieve other clubs of their misfits.

He is just as injury prone comes with a lot of baggage and no better player than Reynolds to my mind.

If we were (and we aren't) just keep Reynolds.

I honestly think jennings will be better this year. Last year he was still kind of training with south's until a few weeks from kick off. He started the season looking unfit and slow. Hopefully woth a full preseason and a rocket from madge he can improve. He is only 23 and has size on his side

If it takes a guy (especially under madge) a whole season to get fit - I don't want him.

@TYGA Seems to me this would be jumping from the frying pan into the fire - with the state we are in as a club and all the "rejected" players we presently have on our "books" (millions tied up with these ) WHY would we even entertain the idea of taking a player from another club , that that club is trying to get rid of - why would he perform/not get injured/ coach any better for us- that is the question I would like answered:rage:

Really wish we could ban the phrase ''If coach x can get him firing''.

If I had a dollar for every player that coach X didn't get to "fire" I'd have a few thousand dollars.
I swear people think coaches are some type of Wizard or something.
People actually believe that a coach can get a player like Russell Packer to 🔥.
😆😅😂🤣😭

Annoyed me the most this season when Des was getting wraps for Suli.

The guy was literally on his last chance, he wasn't going to mess it up under any coach.
