Whatever the reason ..... signing Mitchell and Moylan on high $s & long term contracts is not all that smart and for one I am not unhappy at this outcome.
Got the feeling that Madge doesn’t really give a rats. I think he would be more sorry he missed the boat on Lomax and AJ front .... and Arrow before he priced himself out of negotiations.
I think that the Mitchell saga cost us plenty on the signing front. That’s what happens when you place all your eggs .........

You believe that? They sat around for weeks on end on holiday doing nothing else but waiting for Latrell?
Lomax was never going anywhere either was Brimson. Who did we miss out on on the signing front? There aren't that many elite players available. Come 2021-2022 you will see the results of the signings we have made this off season.

We are basically the only club with a war chest at present and still are coming up empty in the signing stakes. So next year when there are a few clubs with money to spend we will do better in the market place...can not see how it will happen.

Just got keep buying kids and pray for a diamond

I think we got a few diamonds this year, hopefully they stay on track as quite a few have great qualities with huge potential

Looks like we have to recruit juniors and underground players which has worked for us before, most marquee signings don’t work for us

Probably be William Kennedy from the Sharks. Pathway blocked by Dugan/Moylan for the next two seasons.

Is he any good?

Very good...he killed it in the NSW Cup G/F this year.

We have money yes but do we just throw it away paying overs on not really great players? Biggest signings this off season have been Tetavano and Capewell. Majority of the other above average players have re signed with their respective clubs and I am happy we didn't spend overs on those players just because we had the money.

Yes but there have been plenty we have been talking to who have decided to extend with their current club. Lomax and AJ Brinson come to mind. The bottom line is we have to pay overs to even have a look in and even that is not working.

We need at least one top liner and things could change very quickly. We need a no1 and next year we need a no6 and possibly a 9, all the money in the world will not help if players don’t want to come

Sharts fans aren't too happy with this development and that he'll be staying with them

They turn if his form does

They prefer he play 6 and nowhere near the 1 jersey

He has got two years to run on his contract on good money rather than not wanting to come to us, more likely he is just happy where he is. Sounds more like the club wanting to move him on than Moylan having any desire to go anywhere. No reflection on our club just a player who doesn't want to leave where he is.

Agreewith the above.

Not the player for us. We got plenty of them.we cant get rid of already without taking shatks rejects

He doesnt make.our club better

In years gone buy we would have rushed out to spend all our cap space whereas we now are more selective.
I like many on the forum want to see us sign some talent but if it’s not there or doesn’t want to be here, we should wait as players movement is inevitable going on previous years. We will have the cash to make a play.

I would look to blood some youth as other clubs have thrown 18-19 year olds into FG and they have handled it.

Moylan is quality when fit but not what we need

None of us know what’s going on behind the scenes, I doubt that the club would advise us if LM’s manager had resumed negotiations, he may still be here, who knows?

Really concerning that we have missed so many targets. There is obviously a stench among players (especially marquee) when it comes to joining the Tigers. I still hold out some hope for Addo-Carr.

So LM stringing us around has cost us Lomax, Brimson and Moylan.

I don’t think so. AJ maybe, but not the other 2.

Sydney Telegraph (Matt Moylan turns down Tigers to stay with Sharks) Post no longer required

Application and hard work should not be used for Moylan in the same sentence hence staying at the Sharks for the easy money ..there goes my blow up punchable face !

Best news I've heard all day. Moylan is poison.

And any of you moaning externally or internally "why don't players want to come to Tigers?", you sound like an ugly sister complaining about the lack of suitors. I'm not interested in who doesn't want to join Tigers, I'm interested in who does. There are a million reasons why players make the decisions they do and you can't boil them down to something as simple as "facilities" or "success".

Almost all the players in question aren't even off contract, such is the way deals are done nowadays. Very big difference between signing free agents or taking on a player who is already contracted elsewhere.

Tigers have almost $2M and, as others have said, we will be linked to every player on the market. We'll also make inquiries into every player in the market, because that's simple due diligence.

Specifically in the Moylan case, we made some discreet inquiries into his position at Sharks and whether we might get a cheap deal. We apparently cancelled two meetings because of other priorities. Moylan is under contract to Cronulla. I fail to see how any of this is a problem at all.

Better we inquire of the situation of every available player and get linked to them in the media, rather than sit on our hands.

Hope you are right David Riccio - Need the 'Princess' like a hole in the head.

Absolutely, let’s just keep what we’ve got Russ. We’ll finish near the bottom of the table but who cares.

Yep - let's sign up overpriced losers Avo - so we can waste money, dig ourselves into another pit and guarantee mediocrity.

Rather wait for someone decent myself because I care.

Are you a fan of us signing Mitchell? He's decent.

Not overly a fan - I can see the advantage if he were to come - but not at the price people are talking about.

Inexperienced FB, attitude problem, over priced, keeps playing us around - either wants to play for us or not, will he draw any other top players to us? As I said, decent player but not a million dollar player at this stage.

Operative phrase for me is "Save and wait"
