WESTS TIGERS MATESHIP TO BE PUT ASIDE

Mateship will be put aside for 80 minutes on Friday night when six Wests Tigers players clash in the annual City v Country fixture in Albury.
In the blue corner of City will be Robbie Farah, Keith Galloway, Simon Dwyer and Liam Fulton whilst Chris Heighington and Tim Moltzen will be in the brown corner of Country.
With NSW selectors looking on closely, Galloway says there will be no holding back irrespective of his close friendship with Heighington and Moltzen.
“I don’t know if Moltz and I will come into contact but I know the way Heighny plays and he will be around the middle,’’ Galloway said.
“I’ve told him I won’t be doing him any favours and I don’t expect he will do the same for me. We are good mates but we will be wearing different jerseys.
“City versus Country can be a pretty fiery game and that’s the way it should be. Its rugby league. For 80 minutes he is not my team-mate.
Heighington echoed Galloway’s thoughts, saying the pride of the City and Country jerseys will ensure there are no favours.
“I played against Bryce Gibbs before when he represented City. It was good. We went at each other a few times,’’ Heighington said.
“With Keith and the other boys, there will be no favours. Moltz and I want to do our best for Country so it should be interesting.
“We will just go and play the game like it is another match but afterwards we will shake hands with each other and say will done.”
Heighington is also looking forward to the challenge of taking on Dwyer in his first rep match.
“Simon really deserves his City selection. He is a quiet guy who really lets his footy do the talking for him,’’ Heighington added.
“He is a player who will represent at higher honours and will be one of the real big guns for Wests Tigers in the coming years. It will be a good test coming up against him.”
